Original - Nude

Just when you thought Eyeshadow Primer Potion couldn't get any better, Urban Decay found a way. With revamped packaging that includes an applicator, our legendary primer looks more gorgeous and applies with more versatility. And the paraben-free formula still packs the powers it's famous for: 24-hour, crease-free shadow, more vibrant color and smoother application.

Once you've tried Eyeshadow Primer Potion, you'll never want to live without it. Our formula glides on smoothly, and space-age polymer technology fills in any imperfections on the skin's surface, prepping your lids for all-day shadow.

The Original shade blends beautifully on all skin tones and dries invisibly.

Easy on the eyes in more ways than one, this coveted primer now comes in revamped packaging with gorgeous ombre artwork and a faceted, jewel-like cap. Squeeze the Potion directly from the tube or use the flocked wand applicator. Either way, you get precise, controlled application every time.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion isn't a magic potion, but the results you’ll see are so enchanting you'll swear that Urban Decay mixed a little magic into the formula. The secret to the effectiveness of the primer is the revolutionary polymer found in the product. This polymer is able to fill in creases and other flaws along the eyelids, creating a perfectly smooth surface to which eye shadow can be applied more evenly. The polymer helps keep the primer from creasing, giving you the ideal canvas for creating stunning eye makeup effects.

Once in place, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion acts as a barrier to your skin's natural oils. This prevents eye makeup from creasing and fading during the day, giving you richer color that lasts and lasts. With just one application, the primer can keep makeup looking bright for up to 24 hours, so you won't have to worry about frequent touch-ups to keep your makeup creations going strong throughout the day or night.

Free of parabens, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is safe for the delicate eye area. The Original version of the formula has a nude tint that blends easily on all skin tones and becomes invisible when it dries. This allows you to enjoy the true color of your favorite shadows. Applying the primer is easy thanks to the convenient squeeze tube, which gives you the flexibility to dispense the primer onto your fingers for direct application. You can also dab it on with the applicator that is built into the lid.

I have tried several brands of eyeshadow primers and Urban Decay is my favorite. It did take some trial and error to pick a "favorite" so I'll briefly share what I like about the Original (this particular product) versus my the top two contenders (which is Two Faced Shadow Insurance, in my opinion) that I've tried and lend some tips to help with successful application.

The Original is an excellent choice for everyday wear because it has no color and dries invisibly. As with any eyeshadow primer, a little goes a long way! You really shouldn't need more than a BB (think BB gun, not beauty balm) to cover both eyelids but if you do, just adjust the amount needed modestly. It's also important to let the primer dry completely before applying eyeshadow (or eyeliner). When I've not done either of those in the past, I've found the colors are more difficult to blend and my eyeshadow sometimes appears cakey.

The consistency of the formula is light and silky. I apply it with my ring fingertip or a lip brush. I don't use any tool that will absorb it (tissue, Beauty Blender, Q-tip, etc.). When applying, I start at the corner of my eyelid and move outward, up to my brow but not past where I would normally apply shadow. (Though, for this particular formula it's not as important because it dries invisibly. My second favorite primer (Eden, by Urban Decay) dries matte nude so it's more critical to be precise when using it.)

In comparison between the Urban Decay products and Two Faced products, I've found that the staying power is greater throughout the day. I have never notices eyeshadow creasing and I use it every time I wear eye makeup (at least five days a week). I cannot say that I had the same experience with the Two Faced products. Also, Urban Decay's formula seems to stay consistent whereas I found that I had to start shaking or kneading the Two Faced tube to mix up the formula as the product was running low. Two Faced's potency was greater at first so perhaps the consistency and having to mix up the product had something to do with it.

My final "tip" for eyeshadow primer (that I've found with any brand) is that if you over apply and find that you're having trouble getting your shadow and liner to cooperate, don't try forcing colors to blend with your brushes or overpaying shadows. Use a gentle eye makeup remover and start over. The skin around your eyes is delicate so don't over burden it with heavier shadow than you'd usually wear or irritate it by over brushing the colors in an attempt to blend.

Good luck. :)

This primer fits the three star description "works just fine." But for [$], I expect more. It holds shadow on a little better, but for me it doesn't make the cut.I'm a fan of Urban Decay shadow, but it doesn't stay on my face. I tried this primer, it helped, but it still wouldn't make it through a regular work day. Sigh...sad face :(My favorite brand is Too Faced, and when I used the Too Faced Primer, I was able to wear my Urban Decay shadows all day long! YAY! Buy the Too Faced brand instead. It's a better product and costs just the same. It will keep even the cheapest shadows on your face ALL DAY! And, it takes much much less product, meaning you get a lot more bang for your buck!

Comments about Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Original, .33 oz:

I have used this product for years. Unfortunately the last time I purchased it, I discovered they had changed the packaging, it will also be my last time purchasing. That applicator is just a perfect vehicle for bacteria. The applicator is also cheap and scratchy. I miss the pointed applicator. I would have preferred the packaging remain the same and the price increase if that was the issue. The applicator also causes caking and waste of product around the opening. Best makeup product I have ever used. I'm very disappointed that I will be shopping for a new primer. Never mess around with perfection.

I have probably tried at least 10 different eyeshadow primers from Lancome to Avon and NONE of them did a thing. I was at the point of giving up thinking its just something that can't be controlled. I actually got a free sample from this very website that changed my mind - this one really works! It keeps your eyeshadow on and in place! YAY! Try UD's makeup setting spray, too - it sets all of your makeup and keeps it in place.

Comments about Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Original, .33 oz:

I've been using this product and ordering it from Beauty, com for years. Unfortunately, my most recent shipment revealed Urban Decay has changed their packaging completely! Thus, the item actually shipped does not match the one in the picture. I ordered the original, which is supposed to come in a squeezy tube (shown). It came in a container with a shoddy sponge wand that makes application difficult. It would have been great if the item description was updated so I knew what I was ordering! I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and I'm hoping they at least haven't changed their formula, thus the 2 stars.

          Wrong color - twice??

Comments about Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Original, .33 oz:

Anyone else have this problem?? I use this primer all the time - but just ordered in original and got the shade minor sin instead (even though I double checked my packing list and it said original). I emailed that it was wrong, and got the same color a second time. When I emailed again I was given a credit. I love shopping on beauty.com but am hesitant to order again. I did not like the shimmer of the color I received (minor sin). So, I would give 5 stars to the product, but took off one because I haven't gotten it this go round.

This stuff is awesome! It brings out even the lightest of eye shadows. I had a few colors in my naked palette that I have not used because the color would not show (Buck and Naked). Now, I can create the most natural smokey eye with natural colors which makes it work appropriate. I love how easily I can apply my eyeliner now and it refuses to smudge which is awesome! I use a pencil eyeliner because I am an amateur make up user and have not found the secret to applying gel or liquid. I will definitely use this product again when mine runs out.

I replaced this product after using up first tube. I could really tell the difference in the length of "wear power" when I don't use it.

It is well worth the money and lasts a long time!

You need to make sure you apply shadow while product is still moist butnot dry on lids. Not ddifficult to get timing..

Seriously this is one of my true make up finds in the last 5 yrs!
