  1. Prepare - To soften the beard & protect the skin
    • Apply The Art of Shaving Pre-Shave Oil before shaving to provide a protective barrier against the sharp razor.
    • Always use hot water while shaving to soften the beard, open pores and cleanse the skin.
    • For best results, shave after or during a hot shower.
  2. Lather Up! - For a close & comfortable shave
    • Next comes The Art of Shaving Shaving Cream, formulated with glycerin and essential oils for the closest, most comfortable shave.
    • For best results, use The Art of Shaving Shaving Brush to generate the rich hot lather right on your face.
  3. Shave - With a good handle & proper technique
    • Select a new blade and dip it in hot water.
    • Using gentle pressure, shave with the grain of your beard.  Notice that your face and neck hairs may grow in different directions.
    • Now re-lather and shave again lightly.  This time shave against or across the grain.
    • Use The Art of Shaving Razor which provides proper weight, balance and comfort for better control.  Our Razor can be used with MACH3® or Fusion™ blades by Gillette.®
  4. Moisturize - To soothe, refresh & regenerate the skin
    • After shaving, rinse with cold water and pat dry.
    • Moisturize with The Art of Shaving's alcohol-free After-Shave Balm, created with therapeutic essential oils, shea butter and Vitamin C.
    • Avoid after-shaves which contain alcohol; these can irritate, dry out the skin and cause ingrown hairs.  To heal ingrown hairs faster, moisturize the affected area with After-Shave Balm at bedtime and after shaving.
