Ideally, shave after the shower. Using hot water, lather up a small amount of shaving cream with a brush or your fingers and shave with the grain. For a closer shave, re-lather and shave lightly across or against the grain. Rinse with cold water and apply your favorite after-shave. |

Comments about The Art of Shaving Cream, Unscented for Sensitive Skin, 5 fl oz:
I bought this for my boyfriend, who has a very thick beard and commented to me that he ought to shave twice a day. I also got the pre-shave oil for him as gifts. But they were really gifts to me!
His shave is so smooth now and lasts nearly all day into the night. His skin has much less irritation and no red bumps now. He loves this shave cream. He has been using it for a month now and uses less and less cream now. But he does follow the directions that recommend to shave a second time against the grain of the hair. This seems to be the trick to a really close smooth shave. ;-)

One of those items that is a bit expensive BUT worth every cent! Works great with cartridge-type razors and traditional DE razors. You use only a very small amount per shave so a tub lasts a long time. The one warning I have is once you try it you will throw out those cans of "goo" that you have been using for shaving cream. Best used with a traditional shaving brush but works fine rubbing it in with fingers. I actually look forward to shaving now. I have totally switched to DE shaving. Takes a few minutes longer but the shaves are magnificent! Much cheaper too. An excellent DE razor can be had for $30 or so. A year's worth of good DE blades can cost as little as $15 or $20.

JRizzo - I had this same problem too, until I was retaught to put less cream in the brush and spend more time lathering it up.
It is essential you use all the products like they tell you to. It always gives me the most closest consistent shave with no bad after effects.
So it costs a bit out of the gate the first time, but it is worth not having razor burn, skin bumps, or any other irritations.
Now... If someone would teach me how to use a straight razor, my cost for blades would drop like a rock. And I hear the shave is closer than any other manufactured blade out there.

Not bad, but it is a little thick and gets stuck on the razor. I wish that you got a little more for the price.

Comments about The Art of Shaving Cream, Unscented for Sensitive Skin, 5 fl oz:
My husband is in the military and has to shave every day, sometimes twice a day depending on the circumstances. This is the only shave cream and line that doesn't irritate his face more. He used to have little nicks all over and the wash cloth was spotted with blood when he was done. That doesn't happen near as much with this cream and the brush that goes with it.

The best shaving cream you will ever use. Leaves your skin smooth and it doesn't cause any irritation or razor burn.

I use the pre-shave oil and shaving cream and get the best shave ever.
Comments about The Art of Shaving Cream, Unscented for Sensitive Skin, 5 fl oz:
My husband has been using this for quite some time and is very pleased with it. It is truly unscented, doesn't irritate, and provides a great surface for shaving. It leaves his skin healthy and no fragrance means it doesn't clash with his regular cologne. Highly recommended.
