After Origins stopped making the shave cream in a jar, and reduced it to a small tube, we went looking for something new. This fits the bill. The jar makes it easier to use all of the product up. So it is a better value. I do wish that essential oils were used instead of fragrance, however.

Someone had gotten me "the Art of Shaving" as a gift set - and I've finally found the shaving cream. It creates a great lather that lasts (I have to shave twice - and it stays on the brush no problem while I shave the first time). It takes only a tiny bit on the brush to get a very good lather. Razer really glides well - haven't had a nick since I started using it. I'm very pleased with this product and will probably never leave it.

I never even heard of this product until I saw it as a suggestion while browsing this site. I decided to buy it for my husband for his birthday last year and I was familiar with the Sandalwood smell. Oh my word! This product is something he RAVES about. He commented on how smooth it was, it gave him a much closer shave, it was soft on his skin and the smell is to die for! The scent is very woodsy and sexy for a man. He gets one for every birthday and christmas as well. He loves loves loves it. I highly recommend this product. You will need a soft brush to go along with it. My hubby says it works better to lather if you use a brush to apply instead of your fingers.

Product has a nice fragrance but is not overpowering, moisturizes well, and helps make a close and burn-free shave (assuming it is properly applied and used). I personally use one of the product's empty jars, add a small amount of product, a little water on the shaving brush, and whip-up a nice lather with a thickness suitable for my skin type. Works great every time. Most products easily available in the local drugstore just don't work as well. Of course, I also use a gel-type aftershave lotion.

This is the first product I have ever returned after only one use - first the smell while pleasent was almost overwhelming while using - secondly while other recommendations I used to make my purchase revealed a fresch shaving experience beyond the aroma the experience was rough on my skin - I have sensitive skin and have tried many expensive and inexpensive shaving creams and gells and frankly this left mt skin feeling as if it had been stripped and burned - in fact the schik hydra gel I had been using gave me a much better result in closness as well as finish and feel of skin - sorry but this is far from a worthy product and as I said I called as soon as I was finished and requested a refund as a result - for the shave cream and aftershave.

I have tried a number of different shaving products from Zirh, Baxter, Jack Black, and Anthony Logistics and I keep coming back to Art of Shaving as I find it provides the closest shave. The product lathers up after your first pass by simply adding a little bit of water to your face.

I used this product to shave my legs. I got a good shave with it. I am a soapmaker and from what I can tell of the ingredients this is just a cream soap. Cream soap from soapmakers isn't this expensive. I thought it was scented with all sandalwood oil, but that's not even mentioned on the ingredients and it DOESN'T smell like sandalwood at all.

I bought this for my husband and HE IS SHAVING MORE OFTEN WITHOUT ME ASKING because he likes this stuff so much! He also says that his skin feels so good after using this he doesn't need to use aftershave.
