Comments about tarte provocateur SPF 8 Pressed Mineral Powder & Compact, Medium, .39 oz:
First, what I received was slightly different than the picture on beauty.com. The name of the product and the packaging are different. It is the amazonian clay line and the sponge sits on top of the powder, which I don't like. This review is for shade light. I originally ordered medium. It didn't match. So I got an exchange. This pressed powder is amazing. I am a bit lighter than NC25 with Asian yellow undertone. The shade "light" matches my skin tone perfectly. I use BE kabuki brush to apply. It doesn't cover my brown spots on the cheeks. Then I use a concealer brush to cover. I would say it covers 80% of my spots. That is enough for me. The finish is very natural, light and silky. I did notice onetime after 2 hours, my face looked darker. I reapplied and it lasted all day, even after a nap. I would recommend this product. I like Tarte products because they are more natural. But most important of all, it works. It looks good on me. I can't stop looking at my face in the mirror. One thing I would like to suggest the company to change is the packaging. The container looks cheap. Mine doesn't even close completely. But I love the pressed powder.I give it 5 stars. I will keep it and continue to use it. [...]

Comments about tarte provocateur SPF 8 Pressed Mineral Powder & Compact, Medium, .39 oz:
This powder is horrible, which I think says a lot because I love Tarte and I tried really hard to like this but just couldn't.
First of all, the sponge it comes with is useless with this formula. It's thin and flimsy, and it applies the powder in an unavoidable streaky brownish-yellow color. I don't know how this happens because it's POWDER and it's not brownish-yellow in the pan or when you use a brush, but it somehow manages to make it stick to your skin in a very strange and unflattering color. Once applied with the sponge, it's nearly impossible to blend and you end up having to remove the makeup completely and start over with a brush.
But even when you apply it with a brush, it never settles into your skin. For about 2 hours, it's completely obvious that you're wearing powder and then it just wears away altogether. It settles into creases and pores, making them more obvious. But the rest of the powder just sits there on top of your skin, like if you sneezed then it would fly off your face in a cloud of dust.
Like I said earlier, I tried really hard to like this powder. I even tried to use it with a brush just as a touch-up powder but it always came out with the same result.
Overall, I would not recommend this powder and I definitely will not be purchasing it again.
