The true test of a mascara is not so much whether it is awesome the first few times you use it, but whether it is still awesome 2 or 3 weeks later. You're supposed to replace mascara at least every 3 months, but in my opinion it should maintain its quality for two months. This is extremely rare. I am partial to volumizing mascaras, and most of the best ones I've tried (Diorshow, Prescriptives, YSL, Lancome Bad Gal and others) are amazing for the first week or two and it's all downhill from there. Usually it's because they get thick and dry, so you start getting clumps and flakes and the soft featheriness is gone. Anyway, Tarte's mascara in the shiny purple fabric tube is so far maintainting its quality after a month and I can't believe it. It is not the most volumizing, which I think is because of the brush. It's not fat. However, this brush lends itself to extremely neat application because it is a little tapered, so you don't get as many smudges on the lid during application, and what it lacks in volume-building it makes up for in separating action, so you still get a full look. Because it does not go on thick it's not for a dramatic evening look. It's much more natural-looking, which in my opinion makes it even more versatile. It will flake a teeny bit at the end of a long day, but I have yet to find a mascara that doesn't. I am very impressed. I will probably buy it again and recommend this to friends.

I read the reviews and expected this to be great mascara. I love Fresh Supernova but wanted more volume so I tried this one. I used it maybe and week and its all clumpy and flaky. Maybe I got a bad batch but for [$] I would have expected a tube to last longer than a week. I went to the local black and white beauty store and got Buxom Lash to try, let's hope its a better experience.

This mascara goes on extremely well - no clumping and doesn't over-apply. It comes off easily with water (read: don't cry with it), which I wanted. I used to lose lashes at a time trying to remove sterner stuff with either water or eye makeup remover. My only complaint is that it always smudges lightly just below my eyes, close to the outer corners. I've tried different foundations with the same result. I value how easily it comes off at night, though, so I just have to remember to check in at a ladies' room during the day.

I have never read so many positive reviews only to find that I absolutely hate a product. I felt so compelled to write this review to warn others because this is truly one of the worst mascaras I've ever used. It goes on clumpy, makes lashes stick together(I even tried using a brush afterward and it still didn't work - plus when there are so many options out there, why buy a mascara that needs so much work just to look decent), the application feels too wet, the packaging is ridiculous and the brush is one of the worst I've ever used. Not to mention, the price is higher than most decent brands. I wanted to branch out and try something that I perceived would be great based on the reviews but this is definitely not it - well if you're into the racoon eye look, then maybe it is... The only good thing I can bring myself to say about this is that the ingredients appear more natural than your typical mascara and the solution feels soft and smooth. But save your money and stick with the true and trusted drugstore brands. Not only is this not worth the $, you can't pay me to use it again (not an exaggeration!)

I always try other mascaras trying to find something better but I always come back to Tarte Lights Camera Lashes! It's the best one out there, at least so far and I have tried a LOT of them! I have little tiny light colored lashes so this mascara is perfect. It is also natural so I can use it for both my sensitive eyes and with contacts. As far as I am concerned this mascara is the best!

I love this mascara! I've always bought grocery store brand mascaras in the past but have never been too happy with any of them. I decided to try this mascara because of all the positive reviews and I'm so glad that I did. It goes on so smoothly without clumping and I haven't had any problems with it running. And even though it's not labeled as waterproof, I have cried with it on before and it did not run at all! I was pleasantly surprised. I also love that it's cruelty free and paraben free. I've found my perfect mascara!

This looks great - but drugstore.com, how can you call this a natural product if it has all this nasty stuff in it, including parabens? Buyer beware, what they call "natural" or green doesn't necessarily mean that it's free of weird stuff. I think you need to reclassify this, and all the other similar products that you're calling natural.

Maybe I'm just really unlucky. The first time I got this, it was a free gift from [@]. I like tarte's lip and cheek stains so I was hoping this would be a good product too. Unfortunately the mascara was REALLY dry... maybe I got an ancient tube. A year later I bought a tarte palette that included this mascara and was hoping it would be better. Not really... definitely less dry, but still a little clumpy and flaky and application was hardly what I'd call smooth. Didn't really lengthen or add much volume either.I still love tarte for its other products, but I will never ever buy this mascara.
