I LOVE my freckles and don't want to cover them up. This product allows me to even out my skin tone and it helps it appear more vibrant and it also is sheer enough to allow my freckles to show through. If you are looking to cover up acne forget about it, but this product does help make you appear more polished and let's not forget to mention the SPF to help protect your skin. This product is awesome!

Smashbox Sheer Focus is part of my 5 to 15 minute morning makeup routine. Although it has SPF 15, I have dry skin, so I use a moisurizer with sunscreen underneath, and in the wintertime I will add a primer as well as an under-eye cream if it is really cold outside. (When the temps drop into the single digits, the air gets so dry that it seems like all the moisture is sucked right out of your skin!) This is not a full coverage makeup. Other than having dark circles and some fine lines under my eyes, I am blessed with pretty good skin in my early 50's and only need some evening out of skin tone. There are little light diffusers in this makeup that even out skin tone without making it look like I am wearing heavy coverage makeup. The look is very natural. The product is unfragranced and does not irritate sensitive skin.
Before using Sheer Focus I use a good under-eye concealer. I apply Sheer Focus with fingertips-- precise application is easy, and the tube lasts about 24 months. The rest of the "bare minimum" routine consists of brow powder, cream blush (applied with fingertips), mascara and lipstick. I am out the door in 5 minutes. Add 10 more minutes for eye liner and shadow.

I use this instead of a makeup base. I have an oily t-zone and this really does absorb oil. I don't even powder my nose anymore during the day! I have fair skin and have used the luminous and the light. They both work well. I really wish I would have discovered this sooner.

Products is too thin to use on it's own so I combine it with a lightly toned SPF for more substance. I would recommend it to someone who needs minimal coverage.
