To ensure color lasts for up to 8 hours, make sure lips are dry and clean of any other products. Then, fill in lips with the stain and allow it to dry completely. Finally, apply the balm to refresh color. For less saturated color, simply apply the balm alone for a sheer wash. * To get the most use out of this product, be sure to cap the stain immediately after use. |

The sangria color looks bright red on me and clashes with my slightly olive skin tone. The color is a very dramatic, intense red that I can't tone down. I use the balm side on my lips and cheeks for more subtle color, but I can't use the stain side at all.

I had high hopes for this lip stain because of the general quality of smashbox products. But, this stain wore off very quickly and left my lips dry. Had to return.
