To ensure color lasts for up to 8 hours, make sure lips are dry and clean of any other products. Then, fill in lips with the stain and allow it to dry completely. Finally, apply the balm to refresh color. For less saturated color, simply apply the balm alone for a sheer wash. * To get the most use out of this product, be sure to cap the stain immediately after use. |

I use this everyday. I have it in Guava and will buy it again. Sometimes I just use the gloss if I want a less intense color. I get lots of compliments on the color (very pink) and it lasts about 4 hours before I need to reapply. Definitely recommend it.

I love the idea of lip stains, and especially NARS idea of including a sealing balm. The product smelled and tasted nice, and the sealing balm felt comfortable, however, I felt like I was applying a NEON HIGHLIGHTER to my lips!!! So bright and incredibly saturated, and because it's a stain, you can't just BLOT it a little to tone the color down. You're stuck with NEON lips for a couple hours. Maybe the other colors are a little less intense, but be cautious for sure.

I wanted something long-lasting for work. The "Guava" color went on as a very light but bright red, which didn't stay on very long. By the time I got to work, approximately 30 minutes after application, it had worn down to a pleasant shade of pink, which lasted until about lunch time. During this time, all I did was take sips of a morning beverage and didn't eat anything. I can spend half as much on another product that lasts twice as long.

A few years ago Smashbox stopped making this product and I have missed it ever since. I learned they brought it back and RAN to the store to buy more. This is the BEST lip stain. The product sticks to your lips, not to cheeks or lips you kiss, napkins you use, or the cup you drink out of AND it lasts all day! Yes, it is more expensive than others, but it is worth every penny. This stuff is great, the color lasts, and you can eat, drink, wipe, and add a lip balm over it and the color remains put. Only suggestion would be for you to test colors as the images you see do not match the way it looks on your own lips. Other than that, buy tons of it - I love it. It is so good I even recommended it to my mother-in-law, and she loved it. Only reason its not 5 stars is older version was a bit more lasting and had my favorite color, which new shades lost. Other than that, a 10 star.
