Do not use if lactating or nursing.

1. Silk'n  Setup
2. • Remove Silk'n base unit, Applicator and other components from the box
   • Insert the applicator into its cradle in the Silk'n base unit
   • Verify that the disposable lamp cartridge is inserted correctly in the the applicator
   • Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet
     
     Your Silk'n is now ready to start!
     
2. Using Silk'n for the first time
   
   The skin should be Shaved, Clean, Dry and free of any powders antiperspirants or deodorants.
   
3. • Press the power On/Off switch to turn Silk'n on
   • Shortly after pressing the power On/Off switch the ready indicator light will turn on, accompanied by a beep to indicated that your Silk'n is ready for its first pulse
   • Your Silk'n is automatically set to the lowest energy level.
     
     Energy Level
     Energy level determines the intensity of the light pulse delivered to your skin, from the lowest level (-) to the highest level (+).  Corresponding indicator lights on the control panel represent the increases in energy.  As energy level increases, so does hair removal results as well as the risk of possible side effects and complications.
     
     Start your first hair removal session with Silk'n at the lowest energy setting.
     
     If you experience little or no discomfort during and after your first hair removal session using the lowest energy level, raise the energy level by one indicator light at the next session, and so on for each subsequent session.
     
     Do not raise the energy level if you experience abnormal discomfort during or after using Silk'n (see user's manual section 2.6 - Possible side effects).
     
     Do not raise the energy level during your hair removal session even if you experience no discomfort. Discomfort may also appear some time after use.
     
     When using Silk'n for the very first time, the system is automatically set to deliver for the first 50 pulses at the lowest energy level, and the next 200 pulses at up to level 3.
     
     Whenever Silk'n is turned on, its energy level will automatically be reset to the lowest energy level. Only one Energy Level Indicator light will be on.  To set the energy level, press the energy level setting buttons using "-" or "+" to respectively decrease or increase the energy level.  The number of Energy Level Indicator Lights will coincide with the change in energy level.
   • Using firm pressure, apply the applicator tip to the skin.  Be sure that the skin area you are about to treat is spread evenly and smoothly, and that the applicator tip is in full contact with the skin.
   • Press the pulse button to emit a pulse.  You will see a flash of light and hear a POP sound.  This is a normal light pulse of Silk'n.
     
     Note:  As the intense pulse may be disturbing to your eyes, it is recommended to close them shortly before pressing the pulse button.
     
   • After emitting a pulse, remove the Applicator tip for the skin.  Silk'n will recharge for the next pulse.
   • After approx. 3.5 seconds the ready indicator light will turn on again, accompanied by a beep, to indicate that your Silk'n is ready for another pulse.
   • Continue to administer pulses until the desired skin area is covered.
     
     Covering skin areas:
     Silk'n pulses should be administered in rows, starting at one end of each row and progressing sequentially towards the other end.  This technique allows better control of skin coverage, and helps you avoid overlapping skin areas.  When applied to the skin, the Silk'n applicator tip is designed to create temporary pressure marks on the treated area.  These visible marks can be used to proper positioning of the next pulse.
   • • Try to avoid overlapping pulses!
     • Do not treat the same area of skin more than once per session!
3. After treating with Silk'n
4. • When the hair removal session has been completed, turn Silk'n off by pressing the power on/off switch. (Be sure to remember the last energy level setting you used, as it will not be restored when turning Silk'n on again).
   • Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet
   • After each session it is recommended that you clean your Silk'n device especially the applicator tip.
   • After cleaning, it is recommended to store your Silk'n device in its original box and keep it away from water.
     
     Skin care following hair removal with Silk'n
     Do not expose treated areas of skin to the sun.  Be sure to carefully protect the sin with sunscreen, throughout the hair removal period and for at least 2 weeks following the last hair removal session.
     
4. Plan your hair removal with Silk'n
5. • The first 3-4 hair removal sessions will be approximately two weeks apart.  After that, treat again when hair starts growing back.
   • Hair removal sessions 5-7 will typically be approximately four weeks apart, and later sessions, from time to time if and when needed, during the 18-24 months of a full hair growth cycle.

Tips for your first hair removal session with Silk'n

• A flash of light - The bright light of Silk'n will not harm the eyes when applied to non-facial sites, and special eye-protection is not needed when using Silk'n
• A fan noise -  The cooling fan in Silk'n makes noise similar to a hairdryer.  This is normal
• A pop sound with each pulse - When a pulse of HPL light is activated, it is normal to hear a subtle pop sound simultaneously with the flash of light
• Firm pressure of the applicator - Firm pressure of the applicator is necessary and helpful for placement of adjacent pulses of light, and is part of the unique safety feature of Silk'n
• A sensation of warmth and tingling - During each pulse of light it is normal to feel a mild sensation of warmth and tingling from the light energy.  You may feel some warmth for up to an hour after your hair removal session.  Remember it is important to always use low energy settings for initial sessions.
• Some mild red or pink color of the skin - Your skin may become pink or red right after using Silk'n or within 24 hours of using Silk'n.  However if your skin blisters of burns, stop use immediately!
• Results - Different clinical responses are typical in different body areas and from person-to-person.
• Keep a Silk'n Diary - Keeping a Silk'n diary will help you manage your hair removal sessions.  For your convenience, blank diary pages may be downloaded and printed from the Silk'n website.
• Silk'n is a powerful device.  As such, it should be used with special attention to safety.
• Silk'n is not recommended for use on the face or neck.
• Do not use Silk'n on tanned skin or after recent sun exposure!  Such use can cause serious burns or skin injury.
• Do not use Silk'n on naturally dark skin!
• Please read all warning and safety precautions before use, and strictly follow them when using Silk'n.
• Note!  Silk'n may not be effective on naturally white and light hair.
