I love this foundation. I have very fair skin, and I use the lightest shade and it looks nice. The foundation has a nice texture and goes on smoothly. It has SPF 20 and it doesn't bother my sensitive skin.

The only things that are 4.9 ratings instead of 5 stars are that the SPF is 20 instead of 30, and that the Environmental Working Group, Cosmetic Safety rating for this product is 4 -- which is still pretty safe especially compared to most foundations out there. I had been using Marie Veronique which has the highest safety rating of 0 and SPF 30, but it doesn't blend well and sits on my skin. This Tarte product gives me the best coverage and somehow still looks very natural. I still need to use a spot concealer for any pimples I have but it evens out my overall redness and even covers little spider veins very nicely. For me it seems to last all day, and has not made me break out at all. It is nicely moisturizing and slows down my oil production. It does not settle into fine lines. I will continue to buy it and am not looking to try any other foundations. Other than the two points I mentioned above, I can't imagine any improvements. I absolutely love it!

The box reads "Smooth Operator natural oil-free tinted moisturizer." The tube, however, reads "natural oil-free foundation for light to medium coverage." I'm not sure what I got, but it doesn't offer any coverage or even come close to evening out skin tone. Time to visit the cosmetic aisle at the drugstore.

If they ever discontinue this line I will weep tears of blood. This foundation - which also happens to serve as an SPF 20 moisturizer - has created the illusion that I have good skin and that's no easy feat. It feels good going on and the coverage (medium coverage) lasts until I wash it off before bed. I've tried many foundations over the years -- bare minerals, revlon, bobby brown, clinique, la mer, cargo, stila, etc -- and none have made me feel as good about myself from without and within.

Great foundation; it does everything I want and nothing that I don't want. Evens out skin tone quite nicely and has a high non-chemical SPF (I am allergic to some chemical sunscreens, but this I can put even under my eyes). No, it doesn't cover pimples, but I would rather do that with a spot concealer anyway. I was concerned the first time I applied it because it looked like it would be too light, even on my fair skin. Once it was on, however, it was perfect and blended well into the neckline. It stays on all day, even in the hot, humid south. Depending on your cleanser, you may find that you want to use a makeup remover before washing your face to be sure it is all removed. For dry skin, you will need to moisturize first before applying this.

I got this less than a week ago, but couldn't wait any longer to rave about it. I've just recently started getting over my fear of liquid foundations. I've been using mineral/powder foundation for a while, but have started to see the drawbacks. I've got very fair skin and really wanted a relatively high SPF foundation that wouldn't look like I was wearing a ton of makeup. I did a lot of research and found that Smooth Operator was not only highly recommended but also garnered high marks from the Skin Deep Cosmetics Safety Database. I LOVE this product so far. Although it seems like a thick formula coming out of the tube, it doesn't look or feel heavy on the skin once it's been applied. It leaves a beautiful matte finish and thus far I've found that I don't even need to add any powder (and, I think it looks better than the multiple layers of powder I was using before). I heart tarte!

I have combination skin that gets oilier when the summer heat and humidity come. I was looking for a lightweight foundation to even out my skin, but do more than tinted moisturizers (in warm weather I don't need the moisture.) This product is wonderful and the shade Facade is perfect for my fair skin. Most fair shades are too pink for me. I wish I had found this sooner!

I've repurchased this a few times - really love it! Not too fond of the price, but the results are great! I use it over clean slate (also from tarte) and topped with provocateur powder (again, from tarte) and my skin looks flawless. Oh, AND it has SPF 20! I could not ask for anything more perfect!
