Adults apply a small amount as a thin layer on affected area in the evening, or use as directed by a doctor. I use this every evening before my moisturizer. I use Nadinola Extra Strength moisturizer which also contains the active lightening ingredient. If I were use a moisturizer without hydroquinone (the active ingredient), I would use Murad twice daily. It is a gel formula which goes on easily and dries quickly. Together these two products work as well as the dermatologist prescription Tri-Luma without the steroids so you can use them continuously instead of for only a few months. I have tried so many "lightening", "fading" products and spent hundreds of dollars. I have found the combimation of these two work the best. Nadinola is available at Drugstore.com for less than $10.00.

I have seen a slight difference in my skin but based on the other reviews I thought it would be a little quicker. I am using the product for acne scars and sun damage that are on my face and reading the package felt this would be a great product for it. I have only been using it about a week so it may take a little while longer. I did enjoy the consistency and it made my skin softer but the smell needs to be improved on. Overall I have noticed a difference but I would like something a little more dramatic.

This particular product does work however it takes time. If you are looking for quick results, that is not going to happen when you have several spots of hyper-pigmentation or melasma you are trying to lighten. Some areas of my face lighten sooner than other areas. I have seen results after about 3 months of continual use every single night of application. I have severe melasma under cheek area and boy is this area tough to lighten since it is a rather large area. I am now into month 9 of using this and another skin lighter which I rotate. I do get facials done every 3 weeks and have Bio-brasion done every 3 months. Because of this problem I am very diligent about my skin care and with this comes beautiful facial skin. The licensed esthetician I use always tell me "your skin has a beautiful glow to it". My skin is becoming more even toned but it has been a process. I should be done with the skin lighters in about 2 more months. Thank Goodness!!

Got the kit for xmas,started using it a few days ago, in the morning time only. I Used it for post acne marks. I've noticed the marks are not as dark as they would usually be. So far so good, it does lighten the dark spot!

I've been using this product for a week and I can see a difference. My skin appears more even and bright. I have been using it in the evenings after cleansing, and before applying my night cream. I haven't had any irritation or problems with the product. Based on the results, I'll definitely continue with the product. By way of context, I have medium toned skin.

This product works better than any other I have tried. It will gradually fade age spots, and even skin tone. Makes skin look brighter and clearer. Does not work quickly, but can be used daily, and is not irritating.

Started using this to reduce sun damage a week ago & my aesthetician, as she started to clean my skin prior to a facial today, noted instantly the increased smoothness & refinement I'd felt myself after using this product. I have rosacea so tolerating this product without reaction is a real plus for me. Bought a bottle to try on my post acne spots and my sun spots on my face. After finishing using the whole bottle, I didn't notice any improvement and was pretty disappointed. I recently found StriVectin has a new brightening serum and I have been using for two weeks and the result has been great. I guess Murad's product uses Hydroquinone and it's just not effective for my skin. The Vitamin-C actives in StriVectin are more effective for me.

I used this years ago, and due to the price tried the other "Dark Spot Corrector" gel for a little less $. That made me break out terribly and did not work. I wasted the money on the other product which was tossed out with the garbage. So I am back to using Murad. I only use this at night before a moisturizer.
* Remember this, the product is not going to drastically lighten your skin, it will however create a more even tone. Do not use this under the assumption your dark spot will "just disappear".
*It might be a little drying in the winter months here in New England.
*I would recommend to a friend but the price might turn off some.
