I cannot use benzoyl peroxide due to my very sensitive skin, but this works just as well. It does have a slightly sulfur-y odor to it after it has been on the skin for a few minutes, but if I use it at night on a pimple, the red spot is diminished significantly in two days. It can be drying if used more than once a day. I tried other products due to Murad's higher price tag, but I've returned because nothing works so well on my hormone-induced adult acne. Best advice: put it on when you start to feel a spot forming under the skin. It won't emerge.

This was included in the Murad Kit I bought. Within my whole 4 week trial of Murad, this way the worst of the kit. It did nothing on any of my blemishes, even after three days. After a couple days of using this twice daily, my blemish was just as red as it was before. Plus, it was slightly irritating. It is also priced a little high compared to other spot treatments. Will not buy/use ever again! However, it didn't dry out my skin terribly like some other spot treatments, so I gave it two stars.

Comments about Murad Acne Spot Treatment, .5 oz:
This didn't work for me at all. It didn't improve the acne breakout I had. I was breaking out and after using this for two days didn't notice it dimish the pimples. I switched to clean and clear's acne treatment solution (salicylic acid was the main active ingredient) and that product did improve and minimized the amount of pimples I got.

Comments about Murad Acne Spot Treatment, .5 oz:
My adult acne is caused by bacteria so the antimicrobial sulfur-based spot treatment works great. I also have to wash my face daily with a salicylic acid based cleaner and wash my hair daily. I use a make-up that's hypoallergenic and has salicylic acid. I don't know if this would work well on it's own if you are not doing other things to prevent the acne. It may not work well if your acne is caused by hormones or diet.

I have been using this for years. Works great on moderate breakouts. Expensive, but works for me. Has not been working that well on my kids that have teen acne though!

I used this product for a week and woke up to an itchy rash. Not sure what ingredient it is that gave me the rash, but needless to say I am not using it any more! Waste of [$]!

Comments about Murad Acne Spot Treatment, .5 oz:
I'm in my early 40s and just started getting a few break outs around my temples from using certain hair conditioners, also a few on my chin. Never had acne growing up. This is something new to me. My skin is normal to just little dry in winter. Doctor said it could be early, early pre-menopause adult acne . As it isn't severe, I don't need an acne skin care regimen that will cause more problems as I have pretty much normal skin most of the time. This product does the trick. It causes the blemishes to disappear. No scarring. It is much better than cheaper products because this does not have cheap ingredients that just dry your skin out. This product has sulfur which other products don't. For me, sulfur-based antibiotics work wonders if I have a sinus infection as I'm allergic to penicillin. This product kills the bacteria in my skin causing the blemish without over drying it, and without the need for a prescription. Don't listen to the other negative reviews if you are an adult trying to get rid of a small, but serious annoyance you have not had to deal with before.

Comments about Murad Acne Spot Treatment, .5 oz:
Your zits don't stand a chance against this. Put this on before bed and see what happens to them overnight! It even works on the deep, cystic ones I get before my period. 0.5 fl oz. may not seem like much for the price, but it will last a long time since you don't need to use much product to do the job. It is so worth the money!
