this is the best acne cleanser I have ever used - the only thing that has worked. My skin is clear and calm like never before, with no new breakouts. Meanwhile it is improving the overall look of my skin and my pores are smaller. It did take medication to get my adult acne (age 30) under control (doxicyclene) but this cleanser has kept my skin clear once I've gone off it. My skin gets less oily in the afternoon now.
I use in conjunction with the Gentle Acne Treatment Gel, and the Skin Perfecting Lotion. A sample of Murad's amazing Skin Perfecting lotion was what turned me onto the brand. Murad is a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. I use morning and evening, at night removing my makeup with another cleanser followed by this cleanser for one full minute - to ensure acne causing bacteria is killed. The cleanser is actually cooling so it feels really good to wash your face with it - and it feels balanced - not stripped - when I'm done. I follow with the gel then the lotion or one or the other depending on how my skin feels.

I tried this because of all the reviews and I was so excited about finding the perfect cleanser. For the first 2 weeks, I didn't notice anything. Then in that 3rd week, my face exploded! I read all over the internet that "your face is supposed to get worse before it gets better" but after another week of hanging in there, I just had to stop. My entire face, including places where i never had acne, broke out. I was horrified, even puberty didn't look this bad. Infuriated, I returned the cleanser and went back to my old cleanser and started taking Minocycline. I used masks every night and dried the heck out of my skin using 10% benzoyl peroxide just to dry up all the pimples. After a week, things finally went back to normal.
If you have the patience to "wait and see" what happens after the "purging process" then by all means...try it.
Everyone I know who has tried Murad was disappointed.

Comments about Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, 6.75 oz:
I got a nice big sample of this (big enough to test for more than a week), and I liked it enough to buy it. I definitely have combination skin and also adult acne, and this gets my skin clean without overdrying and seems to help the acne. It's not a miracle cure--I don't think anything is--but it does a good job. I like using it with the Clarisonic.

Even though I am 50+ years old I am still prone to breakouts! I tried this product by accident and now it is a staple. Great for cleansing, make-up removal and my occassional breakouts have vanished, thank you Murad!

Comments about Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, 6.75 oz:
I'm extrememly oily and have chronic cycstic acne all my life (40+ yrs). I needed acne care for aging/oily skin. THIS WAS A GRAVE MISTAKE!! It felt/looked great the first few days then i began breaking out and drying out like crazy. I began alternating days but by then, my face was literally on fire,it hurt to the touch, even plain water burned. My face looked charred. It took months for the burned skin to heal (including peeling) and scarring to begin fading. I've never had an experience like that before and hope I never will again. Sensitive skin BEWARE

Comments about Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, 6.75 oz:
This is the perfect cleanser for me. It is effective in removing oil and make-up, non-iirritating and rinses cleanly without dryness/tightness. I has made my pores, due to oily skin, invisible to the naked eye. Yes, one tube does last up to six months, so it is definitely worth the price.
I have absolutely no complaints.

Comments about Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, 6.75 oz:
HIGHLY recommend this product. I used a friend's tube on vacation a few years ago, couldn't believe she would spend that much $ on a cleanser, but after a few days I was hooked. I won't use anything else now - have one in the shower, one at the sink, one at the bf's house, one for traveling... and it lasts quite awhile - 4-5 months a tube using it twice a day. Skin is balanced (no oil, less dryness, no flaking, no acne), toned, awesome. LOVE this product!

Comments about Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser, 6.75 oz:
This is a decent enough cleanser for oily skin, though it won't do much for acned skin. But for some unfathomable reason it contains menthol. The description blurb claims that it is cooling and antiseptic. It does have that freshening, cooling feeling that one gets from Mentholatum or Vicks VapoRub, there is nothing "antiseptic" about menthol. The cleanser already contains Triclosan, which is more than enough for antiseptic purposes. I will continue to use this as I don't have sensitive skin, but I would not recommend it to someone with sensitive skin, nor will I purchase it again.

Got this as part of a Acne Kit. This was the only product in the kit that both my SO and my liked. We have totally different skin (he has moderate acne with really oily skin, I have combination on the drier side with slight acne in the T zone) and it works for both of us.

My son is under the care of a Dermatologist, and he has tried many products. He can see an improvement since using this product.
