I bought this brush well over a year ago and am still loving it. Having thick hair, I've been through countless similar paddle brushes that eventually break (the handle). With the solid construction, there has been no coming-apart of this brush whatsoever. Perhaps the first review was for the wrong brush since this doesn't really have bristles, it's got the plastic bulbed tong/"pins" (see picture). I have lost no pins, nor has the padding that the pins reside in deteriorated one bit. I haven't tried washing this item, but I do clean the hair/debris out regularly. I knew that, for the price, I was expecting a long-lasting, quality product, and ACCA KAPPA delivered!

I purchased 3 of these brushes almost 3 years ago - one for myself. I have very straight, thick hair. One for my daughter who has thinner wavy hair (much like back in the Renaissance with those photos of ladies hair up so floaty and easily), and one for my son who has very thin and fine hair. It is PERFECT for all three of us. I recently purchased one for myself b/c I 'cleaned' mine with soap and water which was a mistake - the bristles sunk into the brush - too much soaking. It is a WONDERFUL brush.

I am very disappointed in this brush. The 'bristles' are falling out and I've only used it for a couple of months. I used another similar Acca Kappa brush for several years and was very pleased with it. Considering the price, this is a very poor product and I won't buy it again.
