Normal to oily skin use 2-3 times per week. Dry skin use 1-2 times per week. Do not use with steam. Tingling is normal. Notes: Intense enzyme action is usually noticed. Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
I bought this based on the positive reviews, and because I have lots of blackheads on my nose and chin that I try to minimize at least 1-2 weekly with masks/peels or other treatments. I didn't find that this mask cleaned as well as some other ones that I prefer (like Lumene's Peat Moss mask) - especially for the price! The price is outrageous for the minimal effectiveness of the product. It also smells like rotting fruit - eww. Will not buy again.

Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
I bought this because of the positive review by the professional, and the thoughtful musings of the other reviews. The mask also shares a name with a healing tool called the violet transmuting flame. The thing is, it works and not unlike its etheric counterpart which is sort of funny. I have a condition that has made my nose and chin very oily (first time in my life) this pretty mask cleared the black heads and made my skin smooth. I love it and I had become a bit of a mask junkie, but this is the best one so far. Thank you thoughtful, thorough, reviewers!

Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
I absolutely love this mask! As a licensed estheticain I have tried tons of different masks and this is one of my must haves. It's great for exfoliating the skin, you'll notice instantly how much smoother your skin feels as your removing the mask. It's also one of the only masks I've found that really draws out the blackheads! I even recommend this to clients with keratosis pilaris--ya know the little red bumps that look like chicken skin on the back of your arms. It's fairly active though, so if you're a bit sensitive I'd recommend going with the green papaya mask.

Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
I had used the astara blue flame facial mask before, and was interested to see how the violet flame facial mask would perform. I was very happy with the results. It left my skin feeling smooth, soft and with no breakout. Many times the day or two days after a mask you can expericence an outbreak but not with this product!

Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
This product provides intense exfoliation and does dissolve away surface dead skin and acts like a vaccum. But you need to wait until in completely dries and then wait some more for it to soak up excess oil and do it's vacuum_ing thing which can take a long time. Best results are when I am in for the night, put it on and hang out for awhile. Too strong for those with sensitive skin but amazing if you have non-sensitive, oily skin. I can stretch time in-between facials when I use this mask regularly-- just takes so long to dry.
Comments about Astara Violet Flame Enzyme Mask, 2.2 oz:
Let me start off by saying that the smell was almost unbearable. It reminded me of hair perming solution, and I almost washed it off immediately just for that. On top of that, the mask did little for my skin. I don't particularly have sensitive skin, but it did burn a tad bit. My pores weren't refined nor was my skin any smoother. The green mask smells much better, does not burn, and actually does what it says.
