I had been searching for about a year for a good shampoo to use before I found this one. My hair had gotten very dry, dull, and looked all around unattractive, but none of the shampoos/conditioners I tried made a difference. After reading a very positive review of this shampoo in a magazine, I decided to try it - within two weeks, my hair looked good again! Now it's shiny, silky, and healthy.
The biggest problems with this shampoo is that (1) it's expensive, (2) it doesn't lather well and you have to use a lot, so it runs out quickly, and (3) if you use it every single day, your hair might start looking a little oily - so keep another brand on hand that moisturizes less, and use that once or twice a week.

I really wanted to like this product as it claims to have avocado and peppermint in its ingredients. However, these two don't make it any better in my opinion. This product also has sodium laurel sulfate, which is used in industrial cleansers, as its foaming agent. I try to avoid all products with sulfates, but I thought I'd try this one since I loved the fact that it had avocado. I won't be it again. It doesn't lather well, and it really doesn't seem to clarify my hair . . . which is sthe entire reason why I bought it.

Comments about Philip B. Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo, 7.4 fl oz:
As a hair and beauty product addict, I can honestly say that this is by far the best shampoo I have ever used. It is worth every penny. I suffer from thinning hair and have quite severe hair thinning at the front and sides of my head. I have tried various high end volumizing shampoos, which have succeeded in adding volume at the expense of gloss and silkiness. My hair looked like an enlarged, frizzy mess. This shampoo actually makes me look like I have a beautiful head of silky hair. It also makes my scalp feel and smell fresher than any other shampoo I ever tried. Some of the reviews here say that the shampoo does not lather well. I did not find this to be the case and am grateful for the fact that the shampoo does not appear to be loaded with excessive, chemically damaging surfactants that a lot of the "easy lathering" shampoos have. In short, I am now addicted to this shampoo and will not use any other unless I find a cheaper brand that does the job as well. Thank you Philip B. for your absolutely stellar product which makes me look and feel good every day and thank you to beauty.com for carrying it!

Comments about Philip B. Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo, 7.4 fl oz:
The shampoo works very well, however the smell is very overpowering. It smells chemical. It also takes a lot of the product in order to lather the entire head. Considering the cost of the shampoo, using so much product in one shower is frustrating. That being said, the effects of the shampoo are fantastic. My hair feels clean and looks shiny and healthy. I have to wash my hair everyday, but it's too harsh to use that often. I use it 2-3 times a week and couple it with a nutrient rich conditioner.

Comments about Philip B. Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo, 7.4 fl oz:
Wanted to love this but I just prefer more lather in my shampoos. You definitely need to lather, rinse, and repeat. Find myself having to use a ton of product for my thick, shoulder-length hair to feel clean. My husband feels the same way. I use high-end hair and beauty products but the cost is not justifiable in my view. Its only saving grace is how my hair seems to have more volume and style better the day I've used it. On my first bottle, don't know if I am going to buy again.

Phillip B is an excellent hair product. I like to alternate my shampoos, so I use the Peppermint and Avocado one along with Shea Butter - maybe change every week.

Comments about Philip B. Peppermint & Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo, 7.4 fl oz:
Whether from air conditioning, home heating, sun exposure, environmental pollution or other irritants, my scalp reacts negatively and itches or burns. This shampoo is a relief from toxins and very soothing. I still lightly shampoo and condition my hair for better texture and body, but I use only this shampoo on my scalp.

This is my favorite weekly clarifying shampoo. My husband and I both love it, even though he has short fine hair and I have long, coarse, thick hair. I follow up with a deep conditioning treatment, he does not. The results are amazing, as is the invigorating experience and scent.
