Pocket comb smooth acrylic avoids damage to hair. Mason Pearson Combs are manufactured in Switzerland by a contract manufacturing facility that ONLY makes combs. The same, strict, quality control standards followed in our brush making are applied to our combs. Mason Pearson combs are Hand Made from the finest celluloid material in the world. This is the same material used to make designer costume jewelry, hair ornaments, and eyewear. Look carefully at the tortoise pattern of our combs. You will notice, the 3D effect of the shellpattern. This is the result of an internationally patented process that replicates natural tortoise shell. The plastic comes to the factory in Switzerland from Italy in a sheet, where it is die-cut into general the general shapes of the comb styles. From that point, until the comb is finished, everything is done by hand. Each tooth is cut, one at a time, on a special saw. The comb is then tumbled in a polishing drum to smooth the surface. The next step is hand polishing to remove all burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections. Finally, it is buffed to create the high gloss finish. |

I put this in my cosmetic bag for little touchups. Might be too tiny for people with coarse hair, but it's perfect for my babyfine hair. Mason Pearson combs and brushes are pricey but high quality. I expect to have this forever unless I lose it!

I love Mason Pearson combs and brushes. I find the combs are excellently made with no 'mold lines'. They do not scratch a tender scalp. I have their baby brush and a comb for my hair as well as this one for my son.

Very, very smooth -- they're not kidding about the comb having no "seams" or edges that would snag hair. (I used to use a "shower comb" instead of a regular comb on my damaged hair because so much of it snaps off or pulls out daily; it was very wide-toothed and even had additional plastic coating on the tip of each tooth. Wouldn't you know, it would still snag my hair on the seams of each tooth, plus, the coating on the tip had tiny holes that I wouldn't have noticed except for strands of hair getting caught on them!!) Even though the Mason Pearson comb is fairly narrow-toothed (just like a regular comb) it gets through my hair much more easily than the shower comb.

It was a bit smaller than I thought (of course, pocket) but it's beautiful, and works way better than any other comb I ever had! Assuming it lasts, it's well worth the investment.

As described in the reviews of the other Mason Pearson combs, this product really delivers. Glides through my hair in a noticeably smoother way than any other comb I've ever used. Well worth the money.

I use this comb each day on my toddler daughter's hair. The tines are strong & work great on her fine, delicate hair. There aren't any pointy edges on this comb to scratch her scalp.
