Detangling comb smooth acrylic avoids damage to hair. Mason Pearson Combs are manufactured in Switzerland by a contract manufacturing facility that ONLY makes combs. The same, strict, quality control standards followed in our brush making are applied to our combs. Mason Pearson combs are Hand Made from the finest celluloid material in the world. This is the same material used to make designer costume jewelry, hair ornaments, and eyewear. Look carefully at the tortoise pattern of our combs. You will notice, the 3D’ effect of the shell pattern. This is the result of an internationally patented process that replicates natural tortoise shell. The plastic comes to the factory in Switzerland from Italy in a sheet, where it is die-cut into general the general shapes of the comb styles. From that point, until the comb is finished, everything is done by hand. Each tooth is cut, one at a time, on a special saw. The comb is then tumbled in a polishing drum to smooth the surface. The next step is hand polishing to remove all burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections. Finally, it is buffed to create the high gloss finish. |

I ordered this comb with hesitation, not because of the price so much as the spacing of the comb, even though it was listed as a 'detangler.' I needed to replace a drugstore-bought comb i'd had for awhile that was wide-spaced and which I used to comb out my hair after showering when applying product. (For those of you with curly hair that frizzes, don't brush! Use a comb, like this one, with product, and air dry. best way to avoid frizz.) This does catch on tangles but quickly dispatches them and I enjoy the fact that I get a much better combing than a wider-spaced one. It is light, travels well, and attractice.

This comb is not cheaply made. It slides through hair firmly without snagging. Works well to comb through my hair that is wavy medium length both wet or dry. The price is a little high but I suppose it is worth it (price being the only reason I gave it 4 stars). I also own the mason Pearson boar bristle brush that has held up for 7 years now, while I have thrown out a few other brushes it is still going strong.

Great comb, doesn't snag hair or break hair. The comb itself is thick and doesn't seem like it will bend or warp with use. I don't like to buy items that will break after a few uses, and thought this comb is more expensive than many cheaper plastic versions out there, I do believe that quality products will last. I'm not saying that you need to follow this mantra, but so far it has worked for me. This is the second comb I have purchased, simply because my husband commandeered my first comb. On a side note, I have long wavy hear that needs to be combed out after washing to prevent tangles, and this has been a great product for my needs.

This is my favorite go to comb. Use it every day. Although sturdy, it has less pull and drag on my hair than any other comb I've ever used. The close second would be my small swissco pocket comb that I own several of and throw in even a small purse for a night out.

I expected the comb to be a bit larger, especially for the price, but I also have a lot of hair. I bought this to replace a cheap drugstore rake comb when the plastic laminate started to come off. A nice treat to myself. It's attractive and performs well. I like that it's a handcrafted item and I'm hoping it will stand the test of time given the price.

I use this comb to detangle my very curly hair after a shower. My hair is color treated and very dry and tends to be a snarled mess at the end of the day. After a shower and deep conditioning - this comb glides through - distrubutes curl serum evenly, and even does a great part.

I bought this comb a few years ago. I love it. It has no manufacturing seams to snag on hair and damage the cuticle. I can't stand using a regular comb any more. I bought a second one so if I misplace or lose one, I'll have another available. No regrets.

mp london detangling comb is terrific - even glamorous! swam 3 times a day for 3 months straight.for the first time, ever didn't take care of my hair. this comb will help repair it. i use it after i wash my hair. in fact, i look forward to it.[$] too expensive? nah. you will have it for the rest of your good-long life. clean it once a week with gentle soap & good water. after each use, run it through tepid tap water unless your water is hard. place in a clean place. clean is honorable!
