Developed and patented more than 100 years ago, our Mason Pearson Hair Brush is the ultimate grooming tool. Only the finest, premium-grade boar bristle, which is gentle to the hair and scalp, is used. Brushing with a Mason Pearson Hair Brush is the best way to distribute the natural oils while exfoliating the scalp and stimulating circulation to the hair follicles. The patented pneumatic cushion conforms to the contours of the scalp, which optimizes brushing with minimal effort. All Mason Pearson Hair Brushes are hand made in England and carry a one year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. The animals are not harmed in the collection of the boar bristle. (Nylon cleaning brush is included.) This "Mixture" has a nylon "spike" to facilitate brushing through thick, textured, or wavy hair, yet may be used on all hair types. Since the function of the brush is to clean soil from the hair the brush should be cleansed frequently. A cleaning brush is included with all brushed (except pocket and child sizes) which is used to remove trapped hair and scales from the bristles. |

I am a complete fanatic when it comes to my hair. It is long, dark and straight. That means I get a ton of knots and it can also look dull. This brush is the first brush that does everything it is advertised to do! It leaves my hair silky, smooth, and shiny!!! The brush design feels nice agains the scalp- no pain and no pulling and tugging through knots! This is a big investmnent for a brush, but I have read reviews where some ladies had the brush for years! To think of how much money I spend on haircuts, this brush seems worth it!!!

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I didn't like this brush at all. I have a lot of hair, but per strand it's fine. This brush made my hair very flat and seemed to distribute the oils in such a way that my hair looked greasy. I tried using it with my head upside-down, to add volume, and it just made my hair unmanageable. A former hairdresser friend of mine couldn't believe what it did to my hair. So I tried to use it on my kids and they wouldn't let me because it hurt their scalps. No go on the Mason Pearson for me. I gave it away.

[$] on a hairbrush seems ridiculous on the surface. After reading many positive reviews all over the internet about the Mason Pearson Boar Bristle & Nylon Hairbrush, I decided that there must be hype for a reason. I've got VERY fine hair and a LOT of it so my hair gets tangled super easily. With my past brush (a brand I can't even remember) I wound pulling out a lot of hair in my attempts to detangle it. From the first use of this brush, I could tell that I'd be keeping more of hair since this brush is MUCH more gentle than any brush I've used before while still detangling. I'll be treasuring this brush for years and will be recommending it to all my friends. I love my hair and it deserves to be treated well!

This is a very nice brush that appears to be very well made. I have much cheaper brushes that work just as well. It does look a lot nicer on my vanity table than other brushes:)

I've owned both this brush and the similar Frederic Fekkai brush for several years, and believe me, the Fekkai brush works EVERY bit as well and costs only $95. Still expensive, but nearly HALF THE PRICE of the Mason Pearson brush.

Although I can't tell if this brush makes my hair look miraculously shiny or glossy, it definitely smooths out my hair. It easy brushes through my thick long (mid back) hair and feels great on my scalp (though the nylon center bristles can feel a bit prickly if pushed down too hard on the scalp). Very nice brush!

A brush in this price range should not start losing bristles after 3 years.[...]Try an ISINIS hairbrush instead and save [$] .I can not tell the difference and think the Isinis brushes are a true bargain.I will NEVER buy another MP hairbrush.

I've got two Mason Pearsons. The big one is great for untangling my mid-back length, straight, fine but plentiful hair. The one drawback (aside from spendiness) is that the bristles are kind of ouchy on my sensitve scalp. I think the big brush is better suited for quite thick or wavier hair. The mid-sized brush, which I've had for about ten years, works better for my straight, fine hair. Either way, it really takes care of my hair - even through changing hormones of pregnancy. My hair has grown longer and healthier than when I was 16, I think because it doesn't break off before its time. A great splurge for women who love timeless quality. Also a nice shower gift, college gift, sweet sixteen from an aunt or grandma with say some fabulous shampoo and conditioner set.
Pros
- Durable
- Easy To Use
- Gentle
- Smooths
Cons
Best Uses
- Daily Use
- Redistributes scalp oil
- Smooths flyaways
Comments about Mason Pearson Boar Bristle & Nylon Hairbrush, Large Size Popular, 1 ea:
I have had my current brush for 10 years and its like new.
I use it at the hairline to smooth flyway hairs.
I use it to smooth ponytail.
I use it to brush out curls from curling iron set.
I use it on the last day of a blow-out to redistribute scalp oil.
I use it to make my hair shine.
I would not use it to blowdry as this would weaken base.
This brush is not expensive when you consider there is no substitute and it lasts REALLY IT DOES.
