Sunless SpotShields™ are patent pending adhesive shields that completely block the active ingredient (Dihydroxyacetone) commonly found in sunless tanning solutions from reaching and further darkening undesirable dark spots on the skin.

Dark spots (a.k.a. age spots & sun spots) are the result of hyperpigmentation or overexposure to the sun and are a common skin problem beginning in the late 20s and early 30s. Dark spots can also include acne, scars, and other skin blemishes. By nature, a dark spot is darker than the color of the surrounding skin. During the sunless tanning process, our shields prevent the dark spot from darkening while allowing the rest of the skin to tan from the sunless tanning solution. This results in a more even toned contrast between the dark spot and the surrounding skin, thus creating a more perfect sunless tan.

Each package contains 21 shields in 4 different sizes that differ in size by 1/16" in diameter. The smallest size is 1/8" which allows for the smallest of dark spots to be covered. The size variances allow the user to pick a shield size that most accurately resembles their dark spot size to allow for a custom match and maximize results. Our shields contain a custom skin adhesive that won't irritate the skin and is extra firm. This firmness allows users to rub on self-tanner solutions directly over the shields with ease.

This is a must have for anyone that does sunless tanning. Before now I have never been able to find an effective way to avoid age/sun spots to overdarken when applying my tan. It's amazing how my dark spot on my face now blends in seamlessly with my tan! I cannot wait for my customers to be able to use these! These are probably best used with spray tanning although if carefully done could be used when self applying as well. It is a sticker, so common sense should tell you if you are rubbing a lotion on with a mit it may peel up on the edges.

Comments about Sunless SpotShields dark spot protection for sunless tanning, 1 ea:

I have a couple of dark spots on my face, most likely from past sun exposure. I was excited to see a product that could keep my dark spots from becoming even darker after self tanning. I tried the Sunless SpotShields product the day it arrived in the mail. I cleansed my face, placed the dots over my dark spots and proceeded with self tanner. I used Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Mousse and applied with a mitt. I did not use excessive force, just rubbed the solution in as I normally do. By the way, I highly recommend this tanning mousse. I wish I could say the same for the SpotShields. They lifted up at the edges while I rubbed in the self tanner. The tanning mousse also pooled a bit around the outer edges of the shields. The SpotShields are a good idea, but did not work for me. Maybe it's just my skin. I also think the product is too pricey for the small number of shields that are included.
