The Red Anyone Can Wear In medieval times, when lipstick was considered a sin, women used lemon to stain their lips a see-through natural blood red. This flattering look has been recreated in Lipstick Queen Medieval. One simple natural-looking shade that suits every skin tone. Medieval is made up entirely of Vitamin E and pigment. It is silken to wear and divinely transparent. And best of all it makes your skin look flawless.

With a lovely texture (it's like a balm but with more pigment), this lipstick is a fantastic choice for when you want some healthy color but don't want to be bothered with extras like lip liner and the rest. The closest comparison would be other more pigmented balms on the market of similar (or greater) price, but unlike most of those this one goes one more evenly and precisely because of the formula and the shape of the lipstick. I find that most tinted balms tend to clump up and settle into the corners of my mouth, and tend to melt very easily in general. Medieval's color is lovely...just a shade softer than the cherry popsicle red of Lipstick Queen's Saint Red sheer lipstick, for example, and more neutral in tone. This is a no-brainer choice for me for anytime wear. The packaging is also of high quality.

This lipstick goes on really nicely. It feels like a lip balm and is very moisturizing. The color is incredibly subtle - much more subtle than I thought it would be. I wouldn't pay this much money just for a lip balm - there are cheaper tinted balms that have more color. I haven't tried any of the other colors but if there is a more vibrant one, I would be willing to buy it.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
I can confidently wear this anytime, even re-apply without a mirror. I love the way it softens and moistens my lips. I only wish it would last longer on my mouth, but I still bought it again!

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
I agree with other reviewers that this lipstick doesn't provide an intensely red color once applied to the lips, but for me that works perfectly. This is one of the red lipsticks that Lisa Eldridge recommended as looking good on pretty much anyone, and I've found that to be true for me. (I have fairly light skin and dark brown hair.) Usually I shy away from super red lips because my style is more "natural," but I really wanted to break away from my usual nude lip colors. This lipstick is wonderful for that. It gives you a nice layer of a pretty berry red color and doubles as a great moisturizer for dry lips. I wear this shade almost every day now.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
There is no way I would ever describe this color as red! It looks like a pinky-plum on me. Too much purple in it (meaning too much blue mixed with red). Quite a misleading description.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
Fairly sheer color but gets more intense with layering. Very moisturizing and has resonable staying power. Color is a perfect medium rose with a hint of brown. No smell or chemical feel.
I will try their other products/colors.

Although it's a little pricey, it's a great lipstick. I like that I'm able to make it a light color or darker with just a few applications.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
I am a fan of Clinique's Black Honey Almost Lipstick, and this lipstick is similar in concept. It is also tinted, but more red and less berry-colored. I was excited to try it. The color is not at all intense and doesn't last long, but it feels great going on, and it is a super lip balm!
I don't know if I would recommend it or not. I suspect there are equally good tinted balms out there, and the color is fine, but not special. Seems a bit pricey for "fine." On the other hand, it is far better than some drugstore brands.

Comments about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick, Medieval, .12 fl oz:
I love the versatility of this color; it works with everything! I'm a fair blond and this "Medieval" color lights me up without being overpowering. It feels wonderful, no dry lips or "crust". My only caveat: it wears off pretty easily, at least on me, and must be reapplied frequently, but its worth it!
