It's lightweight so it's easy to use. The bristles are very dense and will smooth out hair during a blow dry BUT they are so dense that your hair doesn't even touch the ceramic base. If you're looking for something to help you curl more than smooth (with volume), this won't be your brush... although it does give me a slight curl. If you're looking for a brush with more grip than the typical vented round brush, this would be a good one. Also, you need to add another 1/2 - 3/4 inch to the brush size because your hair really won't get past the bristles.
