Do not use Silk'n SensEpil™ on naturally dark skin complexion! Silk'n SensEpil™ removes unwanted hair by selectively addressing hair pigment. Varied quantities of pigment also exist in the surrounding tissue of skin. The quantity of pigment in a particular person's skin, which is manifested by their skin complexion, determines the degree of risk they are exposed to using Silk'n SensEpil™ hair removal device. Treating dark skin with Silk'n SensEpil™ can result in adverse effects such as burns, blisters, and skin color changes (hyper- or hypo-pigmentation). A unique Skin Color Sensor is embedded in Silk'n SensEpil™ to measure the treated skin complexion at the beginning of each session and occasionally during the session. The Skin Color Sensor ensures that pulses will only be emitted on suitable skin tones. Silk'n SensEpil™ works variably on blond, red and gray hairs Silk'n SensEpil™ effectively removes darker hair because its effect is directed at the hair pigment. Silk'n SensEpil™ may not be effective on light hair because it contains smaller quantities of pigment. However, in clinical trials it was observed that some of the lighter hair users did achieve satisfactory results with Silk'n SensEpil™. I have dense coarse hair so I was aprehensive. Silk'n gets rid of the hair. But it takes a few months of every other week treatments. At [$], the light cartridges start getting expensive. Going over both legs top to bottom will burn through one cartridge. As the hair thins out and treatments turn to spot treatments, the cartridges last longer.

I love the laser hair removal Silk'n. And, this is the first replacement cartridge I've had to buy. My hair is fine but was dark. It works. You just have to repeat easy process over every few weeks because of hair cycle growth. Also, something I learned the hard way-read the manual-protect areas that you've treated from the sun-diligently for 2 weeks. I used it on my arms once or twice. Now the hair is very fine, but I didn't put sunscreen on my arms and now my scars that once were hardly visible are very visible now. May not be a big deal for most, but over my life I've had a psycho cat/mole removal etc..

I'm blonde but I have dark lower leg hair/pits/bikini and this works just great on those areas! I'm on my 2nd cartridge and found the cartridges to be really easy to install and remove! No way to mess it up! :) With the drugstore dollars [...] if you get two, this is the best place to buy these! (Especially if you wait around for one of those 20% off emails!) LOVE drugstore.com!
