I think this is an effective product. I combined it with a vitamin C serum and I believe it has made my freckles disappear. I have been using the same jar all summer as an overnight product. It is costly, but I feel it is worth the price. I will buy this product again. I heard about the benefits of niacin from Dr Oz's book on beauty.
