This is a clear polish with large and small colored glitter (yes some silver in there along with magenta, greens, blue, gold, copper). Love the size differences. Doesn' look so much like kid's glitter. But like most glitter polish it is hard to come off, but London's polish remover has worked better than any other for me.
I should note that, because of my job, I can't wear polish on my fingernails, so I endulge in keeping my toes polished. Although I wore it plain first and really liked it, I kept thinking a golden base or teal/ocean green base would look great under it and compliment the flecks. So I tried Nars Cha Cha with Happy Birthday over it. I loved it, but I have had more compliments on this combo than any other polish I have ever worn. Young and old have complimented me on it. It has been a great eye catching neutral for summer. Just a hint of natural neutral, then closer look picks up the fun. Had to share in case anyone else wanted to try.

Too much silver glitter
I had hoped that this polish would have lots of color, without the typical 'too much silver glitter' that so many glitter color combos seem to have in common.
I had hoped that this polish would have lots of color, without the typical 'too much silver glitter' that so many glitter color combos seem to have in common.
When I saw the bottle in real life, I had to wonder if I'd received the right product because there was SO much silver that you could barely see the other colors.
I wish someone would come up with a multi-colored glitter polish that doesn't rely on silver, gold or black glitters as a base.

I fell in love with the colorful sparkles and glitter, but I don't think it's really worth the price. I love Lippmann's polish, but would only buy a glitter one if it was on sale again

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Happy Birthday, .5 fl oz:
I use this as a top coat because it is clear with lots of colorful glitter. It is perfect layered over your regular polish. During the week, I wore plain red nail polish, (conservative for the office) and then added this top coat for the weekend. Quick as a wink, I was ready to party!
Looks great layered over silver and black polish too.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Happy Birthday, .5 fl oz:
You won't find glitter nail polish like this at the drugstore. Yes, it is expensive, but as a special treat it won't dissapoint.
The polish is clear with different size/color sparkles throughout. One coat gives you a nicely distributed layer of sparkle. 3 coats makes your entire nail an intense glitter explosion.
It is hard to remove. I find I either have to soak my nails, layer on enough bottom coat the the polish will chip off after a few days, or make an appointment with the manicurist.

I did not like this product (Happy Birthday). I order around Christmas time because of the colors and it was nothing of what I expected. Its too light and to actually get the glitter effect you have to put on 3 or more coats. Hated it. Sent it back for a refund.

Cons

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Happy Birthday, .5 fl oz:
I normally do not spend this much on nail polish. But I had seen it advertised and liked it. It is nice but you need to add a topcoat to prevent the glitter from falling off. I personally do not like having several coats of polish on at the same time. The glitter does not go on as smoothly as I would like it. You need to grab glitter with the brush & add it to your nail where you want it in order to have a more orderly looking polish application, I would not purchase again.

This product can be worn by itself or over any color and it looks great! I received many compliments. I would have given it a 5 star rating, but it took me a lot of scrubbing to take off, but I'll put it right back on again! I plan to buy more as gifts.

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Happy Birthday, .5 fl oz:
I am a classic gal but couldn't pass up this glitter-fest of a nail polish. I know I can't wear it to work on my fingers and look professional but for weekend parties and such it is great. It goes on really smooth and is actually easy to come off which is surprising for gliterry polish. It looks fun on it's own or adds a punch layered over a darker color too.
