using this treatment allows my me to flat iron my hair to be stick straight in about 15 minutes (as opposed to 45)! also, when i leave my hair curly it literally air dries in a fraction of the usual time. in weather that would typically cause frizz, my hair is smooth and silky. this is a life changing product for me (and my husband who loves the reduced time for me to "get ready" to go out)!!! my hair looks and feels longer, healthier and smoother, and now i have options that are quicker and easier! really unbelievable!

I have been getting my hair relaxed with X-tenso every 6 months for the past few years (X-tenso being a gentle thio relaxer by loreal....loosens curl but doesn't make hair straight). Anyway, when I found this product I thought it would be a great alternative.
On the box it states clearly that you can use this on damaged, relaxed, color treated, etc. hair, and that it will actually improve damage if you have it. My hair is relaxed and color treated (to cover greys) but in good healthy condition. I've been growing it out for a few years and it finally got to halfway down my back.
So, I used this product and followed the direction to the letter. It states to put product in, wait 30 mins, blowdry, then flat iron at 450 degrees. So that's what I did. After doing the process my hair looked really straight. I think it may have lifted the color a bit, but no big deal.
By the next morning, my hair was breaking off like crazy...some close to roots, some near the ends. There was literally hair all over my bathroom. Everytime I would brush the hair was just coming off everywhere. When I washed it 2 days later (as per the instructions) I was horrified to see that my hair had turned into a gummy mess, snapping off with the slightest tug. The bottom 2 inches were completely fried, like a birds nest, and no amount of product would smooth them out. It was a complete disaster. Also, all the little hairs by my neck snapped off near the roots.
I did 2, 30 min deep conditioning treatments over the next few days, but very little improvement. So, I caved and had most of the damage chopped off. But I didn't want to go too short, so the ends were still a bit frayed and snapping off. And forget about wearing it curly! The hair dried into a disgusting crispy matted-looking mess.
Here's the important part: I think the problem is not the product, but the heat from the flat iron. 450 degrees is way too hot for 99% of people's hair. Basically, I burned the living daylights out of my hair, hence the breaking, fraying, and gumminess when wet. Devastating!
Anyhow, after a week I did the keratin treatment again but this time I only blow dried and didn't flat iron at all. My hair still looks a bit damaged at the ends but it's not breaking nearly as much. The true test will be when I wash it again in a couple of days...whether the gumminess and stretchiness is gone.
Bottom-line, this product does relax hair. It also destroys hair if you follow the directions and use an ultra-hot flat iron. I recommend blowdrying completely then going over each piece only ONCE with a moderately hot flat iron. And leave the little hairs on your neckline and around the face alone....flat iron heat is too much for these and will burn them right off.

I was very excited about this product. I couldn't wait to use it. First, the bottles are oddly shaped and impossible to hold while you are trying to apply the solution. All seemed to be going well until I used the hot iron to straighten my hair. mind you, I've had this done professionally many times, so I am aware how it works. BTW, the video says you do not leave the solution in, the directions say to leave it in for 48 hours. The smell of the solution made me sick to my stomach. I stuck it out for 48 hours, but I was miserable. I had tested the product on one part of my hair and it seemed to work. But when I did my entire head, it turned my hair (I think just my grey hair) RED. Almost like a burnt orange. I just wanted the two weeks the directions recommended to color my hair back to its normal color, but my hair is like burnet on the ends. I don't think I can wait for it to grow in to get it cut. I've been chopping away at the frizz ever since. My hair was never straighter and I have been very unhappy since using this product. Warning.. stay away. It's not good!

I called their 1-800 line and they had no advice on how to stop the hair loss. Please read the reviews online before using this product, I wish I had, many have lost their hair. It's heartbreaking. My hair continues to fall out and break, even though I followed the instructions perfectly.

I have naturally curly hair that I had straightened 5 months ago with the CHI straightening system. The parts that have grown out were wavy and frizzy, so I had about four inches of frizzy/wavy hair at the top of my head, and I was looking for something faster then a full straightening system. I also wanted something convenient - not requiring appts at a salon, and more affordable.
I did this treatment during one of the worst heat waves in Chicago - which brought on a lot of humidity. I did 3 things that were against the "rules":
I did not have an iron that went past 400.
I only used 1/2 the treatment in my hair.
I washed after 43 hours, not 48 (sweaty weekend, HAD to shower and wash my hair).
The first two days, my hair looked great. Smooth and straight, but it is stinky.
After the first wash, it was still humid and my hair was smoother, but still had some frizz. The smell changed, and almost smelled kind of fishy.
The second day, after another wash, the smell was gone, but it was more of the same weather, and treatment or not, my hair will not win against a battle with humidity. Day 3 and 4, cooler temps and less humid, and my hair is smoother, but not quite as smooth as that first weekend before the first wash.
I do imagine that if I used a hotter iron or more of the treatment, I would have better results. I still have another 1/2 of the treatment left, which I may do again in about 6-8 weeks.
For the price and super easy process, I would buy it again, but I am not sure if I would get better results in a salon or not.

I bought this product because it was a cheaper version of the professional salon one. While it does not make your hair super strong and straight like the pro one, it does make hair much more manageable and reduces frizz.
I have thinish, medium length hair and this has lasted me for two initial treatments, plus adding a smaller amount of it to my hair before blow drying.
My hair is much less frizzy when I use this and it really cuts down on straightening time. I definitely am still able to wear my hair wavy or curly, but without the pesky frizz. This also eliminates using tons of product.
The one negative is the smell of the product. It doesn't smell horrible, but it definitely is not a pleasant smell. It reminds me of self-tanner.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Just make sure your expectations aren't as high as they would be for the salon version.

I have thin, unevenly curly hair (straighter in front, curly in back) that is very frizzy without any product. I have had two professional keratin treatments at the salons (Coppola and Brazilian Blowout). This product is not the same thing, but I actually like it better. The professional versions made my hair too flat at first and stung my eyes horribly during the blow-dry and flat-iron processes. This is a much milder version, and results don't last nearly as long, but for the price and ease of use, I can afford to do this more often. It makes my hair smooth, managable, and easier to style. It's still curly, but it's much easier to straighten daily. I have thin chin-length hair and I think I got 5 applications out of the bottle. I use the shampoo and conditioner- they work well and I don't mind the fragrance. I think it's helpful to have a friend touch up my hair with the flat-iron after I've done my best- it's just hard to get the back by myself. I'm buying the kit again right now.

Ok… This product is ease to use but the directions included in the box were a little confusing….After watching the video on Beauty.com I was ready to begin the treatment process. I will admit for the first 48 hours (before washing the treatment out of my hair) my hair looked greasy and there was an odor but it's tolerable and worth the results. This product didn't do too much to straighten my naturally wavy hair but it looks healthier, feels amazing, and the shampoo and conditioner smell great. I absolutely love this product and have told all my friends about it!

this is so much less expensive than spending upward of $300 at a salon.
i got at least 2 uses out of this.
it may not be salon grade but for the price, it is definitely worth it.
it lasted almost 3 months which is not that different from the salon treatment.

I am wearing my hair natural, I have very tight coils that get tangled very easily so detangling is not fun to say the least. So I decided to give this product a chance to see what it would do.
For me this product did an amazing job. I was not looking for a relaxer, I just wanted something to make me hair more manageable and it did that. My hair was super soft after I was done with the process. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because it had a funny odor.
