I recently purchased the Halo Illuminating powder and immediately fell in love with it, so I bought this one as well. As someone who has tried dozens of powders and is very picky, I was a little skeptical before I tried it, even though I've heard such rave reviews. I absolutely love it! It makes my skin look smooth and radiant, and evens out my skin tone. It does go on pretty heavily, so use a light hand while applying. I highly recommend using Smashbox's brush 29, which is a fluffy brush that won't pack the powder on your face. This powder would be good as a finishing powder and/or a touch-up powder. My only complaint is that it isn't very long-lasting on me. I love the twist-to-shave technology of the Halo powders and will definitely continue to purchase them.

The actual powder is great. For how lightweight it is, I am always amazed at how well it evens out my blotchy skin and tones down redness-- not enough coverage to hide my permanent dark undereye circles, though. And it lasts a long time because just a little bit goes a long way.
HOWEVER. The brush that comes with is poor quality, the bristles fall out all over your face and it's best to just scrap it for a better kabuki brush. I would rather pay less for the product and not have the brush included. While I like the twist-up packaging, it's totally opaque so it's impossible to tell how much powder is left. Also, at some point I dropped it on the bathroom floor and now the lid won't close anymore, so I can't throw it in my bag without powder getting everywhere. But really, the biggest drawback for me is the PRICE... ouch.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
I had high hopes for this product after reading all the great reviews, but you must have normal skin for this to be fabulous! I have been looking for an oil-control and pore minimizing foundation since I have very oily skin with large pores, and it seems I'll have to continue looking. It looks great if you brush it on VERY lightly, but if applied too much it looks very heavy and makes your pores stand out even more. After an hour of use, my face looked like you can fry an egg on it, so I was very dissatisfied. Would also be great if there was a color in between the light and medium as the light was too light and the medium too dark--I had to buy two to blend them, which was not cheap!

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
While I lovee the concept and packaging of this product it just did not work for me. I have been wearing BE for years and it looks much more natural. First, they need to expand their color line since I am somewhere between the light and medium which is more of a tan. It did not look as natural as my current mineral makeup. The packaging is wonderful and much less messy, but I people will not notice the mess in your bathroom, they notice your face. I would be willing to try this again if they make more shades available. It goes on heavier and has a slight glitter compared to BE. Its also much more expensive.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
I was totally amazed when I first got this powder. I was also skeptical if a another powder would do what they claim it would. Haven't had much luck with most of them. I was so happy that it covered nicely. I got the the light in this one. My only con was that it can go on too heavy if you don't watch out. But once you get the hang of it. Its a dream. A bit of concealer, if needed and this and a bit of Halo for a beautiful glow and your done. So apply lightly or it can look a bit cake like.
l also bought the Halo Glow (highly recommended) and absolutely love that one. Just the right amount of glow. I have light/light medium skin. And love both products!!! Highly recommended. They work so much better than bare Escentuals foundation.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
I am a big proponent of drugstore brand makeup and haircare products, I find they are just as good as the expensive lines. Spending [$] on powder was a bit far-fetched for me, so I hit my local Sephora and asked for a demo. After shopping and running errands all day in the rain, I checked my face in the mirror when I got home. My mascara had flaked, my blush was fading, buy my skin looked fresh and glowing. I purchased Halo online that afternoon. In the last month, I have had strangers compliment me on my beautiful skin. I will buy this product again and again.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
I like Bare Essentials multi-tasking Summer Bisque as an all-over foundation ... but the expense and the small amount of product makes it infeasible, and I'm not crazy about the BE foundation itself. I do like this Smashbox Halo foundation and this is my third purchase of it...HOWEVER, the first was "Medium", which is NOT medium but far too dark for my medium skin, so next I purchased "Light" and it works, though I would prefer something in between. Application: this product looks nice if you apply it with a light touch...use a large, soft brush that won't take on too much product, tap most of it off the brush, and if you have mature skin, stay away from your eyes, seriously. I like this better than any liquids or cream foundations, and will use this product till something better comes along. But it's not perfect, at least not for my skin.

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder, Light, .75 oz:
I usually have very sensitive and dry, flaky skin - this powder blends well, has great coverage (I dab it on blemishes as a concealer and it stays on well), and overall it looks pretty natural. I'm not sure I would call it moisturizing, but it does not burn and cause cystic acne like Bare Escentuals does (which also turns a gross glimmery orange within a few hours)!!! I set it with PomMist by Jane Iredale or Rosehip Hydrosol by Evan Healy to avoid that dry look and feel, and I have no complaints other than the fact that the latch on the one I carry in my purse broke very shortly after I purchased it. I keep it in an internal pocket, so it's pretty secure - otherwise I'm sure it'd be a huge problem. I am also not a huge fan of that little brush that comes with it - I use the Travel Buki brush by Sonia Kashuk.
