I received a very generous sample size of Lip Plumper in Madrid with the Lela Rose beauty bag. When I looked at the color of the lipstick I figured I would give it to a friend of mine who wears cool colors. Usually I wear corals, red, and apricots, because anything with blue undertones, purple, mauve, etc. washes me out or makes me look ill. I was so intrigued by the product claims, however, that I tried this color just to see how the formula worked. I was stunned to see that the color merged nicely with my natural lipcolor and became an interesting raspberry shade. It definitely plumped and smoothed my lips and it's extremely long-wearing. I like this best mixed with other lipsticks, because it adds a really beautiful and interesting color dimension. My only complaint about this product, and one that may prevent me from actually purchasing one, is the fragrance. It has a very strong peppermint-ginger scent that never fades. It "stings" lips a little, in order to plump them, but this is not uncomfortable. The scent is not unpleasant; it's actually a refreshing, Aveda-lipstick type scent. I don't mind the usual vanilla or fruity flavor lip products, because the scent usually disappears quickly, or my nose stops detecting it. This Jane Iredale lipstick, however, is the exception. I smell the stuff the entire time it's on my lips, and because my nose is so close to it, it interferes with my perfume, and it really bugs me when I'm eating. That's just a personal quirk of mine though, and the smell may not bother anyone else. This is a product worth trying, because it's high quality and it looks great. I can't get over how nice the Madrid looks on me, because it looks like it would be a "my lips but deader" color. If you're familiar with Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball in Goodbye, Madrid reminds me a little bit of this, when it's on my lips. Madrid is attractive, but slightly unusual as well, which I love.

I got a sample of it in the color "Madrid." I was a bit stand-offish about it bc it looked very dark (for me anyways). But I tested it out and it was rather sheer. Great if you would do a smokey eye look and want just a bit of color on your lips. The taste/smell was wonderful. Has a cinnamon taste/smell do to the lip plumper element. Which is there. I was kind of shocked do to the fact it is a lipstick. Normaly most lip glosses have it not too many lipsticks. So overall its a wonderful product.
