The best thing about Powder Me is that it gave me good protection without the messy greasiness I hate about traditional sunscreens. It worked very well to protect my family and myself from sunburn during an urban vacation that involved lots of walking in the July sun. It's hard to judge if it did or didn't contribute to a few new blemishes, because naturally my oily skin is going to be even more active when out in the heat and humidity for extended time. However, it seems better than the results I've had from other products. The bonus: ease of use on two guys who hate to rub on sunscreen.

This product was recommended to me by a pharmacist for my sensitive skin. I specifically requested something that I could use for activitities at higher altitude. Today I tested the product on a sunny day on Mt Rainier at 8600 feet of elevation while skiing and suffered a serious sun burn. I reapplied this product on my face and neck several times throughout the day (at least 5 times) and both areas are completely burned. I applied it on my arms maybe twice throughout the day and suffered a very, very bad and painful burn. The results of using this product are as if I had used no sunscreen at all. My friends used a regular sunscreen today and got no sunburn or not even redness. This is a horrible, dangerous product that doesn't work as suscreen at all!

Comments about Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30, Translucent, .62 oz:
My only complaints about this powder are that it is too pale and it is very expensive. Next time I will order the other color. The translucent tone is too white and powdery looking, even though I have very fair skin. To compensate, I've added a lot of powdered blush to make it a more natural color. Before giving up on it I will try the other tone, because I love the concept of a sunscreen mineral powder. I wish the cost was more affordable.

Comments about Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30, Translucent, .62 oz:
Let me start off by saying i hate sunscreen but i know its important :). Most sunscreens are thick nasty and break me out. I was surfing Beauty.com i came across this powder sunscreen and i had to order it. I love the translucent shade for my very pale skin. In winter i mostly used this on my face and throat for sun protection while using tretinoin. I did buy a back up for summer to use on face hands shoulders etc when im not at the pool. The sunscreen is very lightweight and the finish over make up is pretty because its finely milled. The sponge can be removed and washed i tried it but keep in mind to let the sponge dry completely before putting it back onto the container

I use this product on my arms, face and chest before going outside. It is quick, easy and not messy. My 3 yr old son can apply it on himself very well. I do use a regular sunscreen for the pool and such but this works great.

Comments about Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30, Translucent, .62 oz:
This sunscreen is great. So easy to apply and can be used alone or over make-up. I do not like cream sunscreen products, and I do not want SPF in my moisturizer, so this is perfect for me. Also, I have rosacea, so I have to use products that are gentle. The translucent powder adds no color to the face and has a SPF of 30 which is nice. It can be used on the part in your hair as well as on the ears. I buy this product over and over. It also comes in a tan shade, but I found that too dark for me even though I am olive complexioned. In the summer I may mix a little of the tan with the translucent to give me a subtle all over tan look. This product can also be used on the body. The only problem I have ever had with it was with the sponge which ripped around the edges. I called Jane Iredale and they sent me a package of five replacement sponges at no cost.

Comments about Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30, Translucent, .62 oz:
I bought this specifically to add a layer of sunscreen under my Bare Escentuals makeup. It's SO MUCH BETTER than starting with a greasy sunscreen out of a tube. I can't attest to its effectiveness against sunburn, because I'm a very fair-skinned sun avoider.
I didn't like the sponge, because I couldn't tell if or how much of the powder was actually making it to my face, and I need certainty when it comes to sunscreen. Tossing out the sponge and applying the product with a makeup brush as I do my mineral cosmetic powders works quite well.
I can also attest to a particular waterproof benefit. Mineral makeup will keep your face presentable under the pressure of funerals, ER visits, etc. It's amazing how comforting it is when reduced to tears to know that your face hasn't gotten all red and blotchy and clown nose and such on top of it.
This dry sunscreen adds additional waterproof reinforcement as well as protecting fair skin from daily sun exposure. It works.

Comments about Jane Iredale Powder Me Dry Sunscreen, SPF 30, Translucent, .62 oz:
I used this product on me and my 2 toddlers (age 2.5 and 1.5) while in Jamaica for a week. They hate having lotion sun protection put on their faces but loved having me put powder (just like grandma!) on their faces. I loved how it minimized the shine and outright sweating that I always experience with lotion sun protection. It seemed to last a long time and it was amazing how my son, who is extremely fair-skinned, did not look like he got any sun exposure at all (fellow travelers on our return flight even noticed). I actually applied it over Neutrogena's 100+ SPF very sheer and light lotion (also an awesome product!) and loved the result.
