Since I let my hair go gray, I have struggled to find shampoo and conditioner that really worked with my "new" hair's texture -- thick, wavy to curly. I find that this gives some volume, brightens up the gray, and leaves my really hair silky. It is expensive, but a lot goes a long way, and my hair looks and feels better than it has in a long time.

I bought a travel size of this on a whim, mainly because I was trying out the conditioner (separate review). My hair is naturally curly, dense, thick, coarse and very long (mid-back), my ends are dry but my scalp is oily. Moisturizing shampoos usually leave my scalp oily so I didn't have much hope for this, but I absolutely love it! It really deep cleans my scalp of any build-up and oil, but leaves the hair so soft and shiny. I wish this didn't cost do much, but a nickel-sized amount works into a good lather that covers my entire scalp. The fragrance is a clean, light citrus scent that dissipates quickly. The little travel tube lasted a long time, but I have already purchased the full-size. The cap of the full-size bottle is odd, you twist, upend, and then squeeze. Thankfully, it's a spill-proof cap, but it does require two hands; and the bottle itself is very skinny and so I can squeeze it one-handed. Still, I love this shampoo and will continue to buy.

I have a lot of fine hair that gets weighed down by almost everything I've tried. This product added a ton of body - almost immediately. But, within a couple of weeks I started to notice a lot hair loss and split ends. The body was created by drying out my hair and the build up began to weigh my hair down. I finally gave up when I had a hair analysis that showed the build up around my scalp (which was causing the hair loss) and all of the broken ends. I'm now happily back to using Phyto (the anti aging, it's really fab) and pleased with the results.

Since I have started using the Alterna Caviar Volume Shampoo with Seasilk, my hair stylist has commented on how healthy my hair is becoming. The shampoo does add some volume to my hair, too. I color my hair and it needs a great shampoo. This is it!
