This product seems to clean very well as my scalp itches when something doesn't. No itching with Rene. It was recommended to me by a stylist who suggested using every day. I have salt and pepper hair and resist any color treatments due to chemical exposure. Although Rene has quite of list of chemicals in it, its a second best than just leaving the gray alone. It actually removes the yellowing which makes gray hair look dull, adds shine, and over time, makes it look like have less of the gray thing going on. The instructions say to use once or twice per week .... I've used it everyday for over 3 months and no noticeable side effects.

Over the years of being a bleached platinum blonde girl, (and very picky about the tone of my hair) I've tried many different violet toning shampoos and conditioners that have done nothing but dry out my delicate hair. [...] I've been using it for about a month and I absolutely love it. After I bleach my roots, I use Okara about 3x per week until the yellow tone is gone and then I use about 2x per week or mix it with my regular shampoos. I do not wash my hair everyday, so basically every time I wash my hair I am using this product until my hair starts to take on a purple cast, then I know it is time to back off for a few washes. This is the best toning shampoo I've used to date. My only concern is the price for the amount that you receive. This is a high-quality product, but be warned that the bottle may only last about a month depending on the thickness of your hair.

Not too many shampoos out there for gray hair. Others are very drying. This one is great and moisturizing. Although it's expensive, you only use a bit and only once or twice a week. It also rinses well so there's no blue residue.

I have purchased this twice now for my mother who has beautiful white hair. Prior to using this she was getting a lot of yellowing in her hair either from the water or the shampoos she was using. Within a few weeks of using the Rene Furterer product, her hair was noticeably whiter. And now that she has been using it for a few months, the yellow is practically gone, and her coarse, thick hair is much softer than it has ever been.

It might be important to note that she doesn't use this as a daily shampoo, but rather once or twice a week.

This is a wonderful product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has white or gray hair and is experiencing issues with yellowing.
