I am so excited about this product! After doing much research on the effects of parabens and other preservatives I decided it was time to "go green" with my beauty routine. My first change was my hair care. I came across John Masters online and I'm so glad I did. This shampoo is great. The scent is spectacular! I don't think the conditioning component is intended to replace conditioner altogether. I believe its to keep the zinc in the shampoo from "ratting" up your hair. I have used other zinc shampoos (Pureology) without conditioning components and my hair was left a tangled mess. With this shampoo I have no tangles and only need to condition the ends of my hair. I use the Honey/Hibiscus reconstructor. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and is extremely manageable. I look forward to trying other John Masters products. FYI to other reviewers, Pureology is not organic unless there is a separate organic line that I am unaware of. All the Pureology products I have used contain chemicals and parabens and are far from organic.

I love the organic qualities of this product. Although it's more money than I would usually pay for a shampoo I decided it was worth it based on it's organic ingredients and wonderful reviews. I tend to have a mild sensitivity to perfumes and dyes so was hoping this would be a good product for me. The shampoo smells fantastic and lathers well. The latter is something I've had trouble with using other organic brands. Unfortunately for me it hasn't turned out so well. I have thick shoulder length hair and after a few washings I noticed I was beginning to break out with an itchy rash on my neck and my scalp was very itchy. In addition, after using my hair dryer as normal, I was noticing a lot of hair breakage. I use a John Masters conditioner as well and my hair always feels clean and soft so I was really surprised at the results. Unfortunately I have had to stop using this product.

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
I know that others love the scent of this shampoo but I found it intolerable. Fresh out of the bottle, the nose is overwhelming - intensely sweet and cloying with very heavy notes of coconut that completely overpower the sage and lavender that I was looking forward to. It finishes with a whiff of eau de cat pee, possibly from the zinc. I thought about rewashing with another shampoo, but then decided to see if the odor diminished when my hair dried. It didn't. My pillow reeks too and I am hoping that I won't have to wash the pillow too. On the positive side, and the reasons for one star, I liked the organic ingredients, thought it lathered fine, and my hair was soft afterwards. I have smelled the open bottle a few times since I used it just to see if it was an isolated incident, but I still hated it. I will return it.

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
I enjoyed this shampoo! It was surprisingly sweet smelling (but not overly so and didn't linger in the hair later) and my hair felt clean and conditioned after use. I did not use a conditioner with this product. I have been dealing with dry scalp/dandruff issues that would make me itch my scalp but using this helped to calm my oily/dry issues going on. 24 hours is about the longest I would go without another wash/dry shampoo. But since the formula is gentle (and includes conditioners) you should be able to use it...if you can afford it.

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
First of all, this is the most heavenly smelling organic shampoo that I've ever used. The whole family is hooked on it. It smells like butterscotch or coconut/carmel - hard to describe but it also looks like you are pouring butterscotch in your hand so it's fun to use with kids as well. Incredible ingredients, helped all of our itchy dry winter scalp. It says it has conditioner in it as well, so my husband can use it as a 2 in 1 product. My daughter & I have long wavy hair with some curl that tends to be dry so we add one of John Masters Organics heavenly conditioners after (we like & rotate with the Hibiscus, the lavender/avacado one, and alternate with the Citrus & Neroli which also smells like orange blossoms -my daughter loves this). Hope this review helps!

Fantastic product! This is the first time I've liked something in this brand. It smells great and makes my straight hair bouncy and full of volume. Normally shampoo with conditioner weighs my hair down, but this one doesn't. It works great. Worth every penny

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
I love the way this smells and it's definitely gentle. However, it doesn't make my hair feel as clean as my other shampoos. Maybe it's because I'm used to evil sulfates and this is sulfate-free. It's probably better for keeping your hair from drying out or keeping color from fading. So it's good. But for the price, I was hoping for perfection.

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
I really like this shampoo. I have dry skin and it works well to keep my scalp hydrated and not flakey with daily or every-other-day use. I like the fact that the ingredients are good for you ingredients, unlike so many other brands. I also love the smell, I can't really describe it, but it is a wonderful smell. If you are buying this to control a little flakiness, and have tried other dandruff shampoos, you'll appreciate that it doesn't leave you smelling like a dandruff shampoo!

Comments about john masters organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner, 8 oz:
I'm a makeup and skin product junkie - with hair I'm not as high maintenance. However, this claims to help with winter dry scalp and flaking and that, it did not do at all. In fact, I think it made my scalp worse. It made my normally shiny, healthy hair dull and very dry. It smells amazing though
