it's been very difficult for me to find hair products free of nasty chemicals like pthalates, parabens and such. i researched every ingredient in this shampoo in the cosmetics safety database before buying and am very happy with both the product and its contents.
this shampoo does not foam. get over it. it doesn't contain the sudsing agent sodium laureth sulfate, which can irritate skin anyway. soaps, shampoos and cleaning products do not need to foam to be effective! it's all in your head. or rather, on it.
this shampoo cleans my hair perfectly for daily use, does not dry my scalp and most importantly, it doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down and greasy like many others do. perfect.

This is a good sulfate-free shampoo that cleans my straight, fine, oily hair well. It does a good job. My only complaint is that my hair is not shiny after using this shampoo. After using it for a week, I looked in the mirror and thought "I'm looking older than I used to look." I finally realized that this shampoo leaves my hair a bit dull, and that was causing me to look older. SO, I switched back to another sulfate-free shampoo I had used that doesn't lather as much as I would like. If I have to choose between lather and shiny hair, I choose shiny hair. But, other than that issue, this shampoo does a great job, smells good, and doesn't dry out my hair.

Smells great, cleans well and lathers as well as any product like this can be expected to. Inexplicably leaves my hair really dull and limp, however, so I won't purchase again.

Comments about john masters organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo, for Normal Hair, 8 oz:
I love this shampoo because it has none of the harsh ingredients that others do have. You have to shampoo twice to get lather, but still use a small amount. It smells really good and my hair is clean. Although this is expensive it is worth it and lasts quite a while.

I needed a product without dangerous chemicals. This was a highly rated shampoo from The Environmental Working Group. It performs like an expensive salon shampoo

Lathers just fine. A tad drying on my thick hair. Smells like Aveda shampoo and that is a good thing. Will try the moisturizing version next time.

Took some time to adjust myself to this; didn't lather at all first, so gradually used more this & less regular shampoo every time, then now I'm using only this. Love the way my scalp feel, and my hair shines after using this.

Comments about john masters organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo, for Normal Hair, 8 oz:
I wanted a shampoo that was safe to use as well as a great cleaning gentle product. This is it. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't lather up - it doesn't need to in order to work. You don't need to use a lot either so even though this is not the cheapest shampoo it is worth the price. I have shoulder length hair and a bottle lasts 3-months.
