I have actually been using this system for 2 years now and never questioned it, i just assumed it was doing its job. I just recently purchased a dissolved solids meter to check the quality of my tap water and decided to also test how well the Jonathan Beauty Water system was doing. I tested my tap water for dissolved solids (parts per million) and got the following readings from the meter... Cold tap- 38ppm Hot tap 50ppm. Then I tested my Brita water filter that I use for drinking and got a reduced amount of 20ppm, just so I could make sure the meter was working. And when I tested the water coming out of the Jonathan water system, using a brand new filter to be fair, and I got these readings.. Cold shower water- 34ppm, Hot/Lukewarm shower water 50ppm. I was very disappointed that there was no difference in lukewarm to hot water which is what most people shower with, but now that I think about it how could water that is traveling so fast through a shower filter possibly be effective at removing harmful metals. Let's face it: Jonathan's kind of a tool. This shower filter, however, is not.

Once you get your wrench out and start to fasten the filter to your pipe, you'll realize it's not rocket science and that there's no need to call out for a professional installation. Once it's on, it's on, and the replaceable filter cartridges pop on and off as you need. The filters last a good six months, I'd say, and having gone through almost a year with it in my shower, it's a device worth holding on to.

I tried getting a shower filter on a whim not expecting much and I'm so happy I did.
I have very sensitive ( but veryy oily) skin & I never considered my shower water to be a problem, but a day or two after installing the filter I noticed my skin was a lot more luminous than usual & very smooth. My hair felt a lot softer & was much shinier .
It's been about 8 months ( I replaced the filter once at 6 months ) & my skins improved so much as far as even skin tone, less breakouts & less irritation.
My hair tangles less & continues to be shiny & healthy looking.

The price is very reasonable & the filter only needs to be changed twice a year. The only problem I had was in regards to installation. It was pretty basic & easy enough, but once it's on it's not very adjustable & a little leaky. I have an older shower which might be part of the problem, I used electrical tape around the leaky part & it's held up fine. None of this has been a big enough problem to make me regret buying it though, I was very skeptical at first but it was well worth it for me.

Easy to install and very effective. Just got it about a week ago and am noticiing differences in hair and skin...works to combat the gunk found in "hard water" and lead pipe system that was masking my true beauty!

We are currently renting a house with very hard water. This filter has softened the water in our shower helping my skin feel less dry and my hair not feel so weighted with minerals. This product did not diminish the water pressure at all. I highly recommend it for folks who don't want to invest in a whole house water purification system. It will also be easy to uninstall and move to our next house.

I noticed a difference in my hair the first time I used this. It was much shinier and had some bounce. My boyfriend loves this as well. He says it makes his skin soft. I would highly recommend this product. Well worth the money.

It leaks. I've purchased a second one, and had a pro install it the second time. It still leaks. Very annoying.
My hair looks better than it used to. The color does last a long time. My skin loves the filtered water. The filters are expensive. And I too have very hard water and must change them frequently. All this leads to more leaking. I'm now shopping for a home filtration system so I can have the shower head of my dreams instead of a leaky one which adds many things to my to do list.

I'm a pretty "handy" female but honestly - if you're a single female don't let not having a man around the house stop you from purchasing this product - it's easy to install. My only suggestion would be to make sure you pick up some inexpensive plumbing tape to seal the threads when installing. It's not mentioned in the installation instructions and not included.

I started looking at consumer ratings on shower filters due to my hair looking dirty after I washed it. I've lived in my house for 9 years and have never had a problem, but for 3 weeks I had to keep sprinkling baby powder in my hair after I finished blow drying it. Investigating the cause I found out that my shower could be causing the problem as well as my son's scalp issues (occasional dandruff and psoriasis) and I've heard a filter could help with my dry skin. This product was top rated and the price was considerably cheaper than it's rivals.

Since I've been using this product my skin isn't as dry, I have eleviated my "dirty hair" issues, and an unexpected bonus - my most rescent hair color application has stayed true to color. I haven't used the product long enough to know how my son's scalp will fair long term but I'm optimistic based on my current experiences.

I was willing to take the gamble on a shower filter to try and resolve my hair issues. But being this filter came with it's own shower head I was very concerned how I would like the water spray coming from the new head. I am very pleased with it! That may seem like a small thing to some but it's a high priority for me!

You can't go wrong with this product! Two thumbs up!
