To open and fill turn dial on left side of he compact in a counter-clockwise direction. Open the case, place you thumb and index finger against the groove of the foundation refill and pop refill cartridge securely into place. Use professional sponge to smooth the foundation onto the face and neck. To shut and lock the compact, close the case and turn the dial clockwise until securely locked. |

I don't have a problem with my 2 Vincent Longo compacts. Mine do the job and keep my foundations in great shape. I love this foundation!!

This is just not the same as the old compact, in fact, as i went to put a new refill in today a huge piece came out with it! It hasn't been dropped a single time, and always kept safe in my makeup bag. It's [$], and just does not close like the old compact I used to have from VL. Unfortunately, I bought this over a year ago, and my old compact just got lost never broken, but I had it for at least 5 years. Very disappointing. This was obviously due to a manufacturing problem and not from misuse. Beauty.com won't replace b/c it has been to long, and I don't know that I will buy it again from this site since the one from them was such poor quality.

I've been using Vincent Longo's foundation for years and, although it's still great, I'm disappointed by the quality of the compact and the sponge. The sponge is smaller and stiffer than it used to be, and the compact's closing and lock system are not as smooth as before.
