Always apply Philip B® Drop Dead Straight to freshly washed, towel dried hair. Work a quarter to half dollar sized amount (depending on the thickness and density of your hair) in 1" to 2" sections starting off the scalp at your roots through your ends. Comb through and immediately blow dry or wet set your hair. For optimum results, dry your hair thoroughly with a large round or flat natural bristle styling brush. Always start drying your hair from your roots through your ends. |

I use this product after conditioning, before blow-drying . I have very thick, wavy hair, and it helps keep my hair from getting too "big". When I ran out of this product a few months ago, I tried another straightening product, but came back to Phillip B. There was no comparison.
Having said that, I must add that I use a ceramic straightener after blow drying, but without Phillip B. straightener, my hair would be a dry, wavy mess. It's easy to apply, you don't need a lot, and it makes blow drying so much easier. I would recommend it to anyone. Strangers stop me all the time to compliment me on my hair.

This product does fare better than most other straightening products that I have used, and that is many. I started using the product in spring and it worked incredibly well, but it has not done well in summer weather. Once the humidity rose higher, the product gave out. Now if you live in California or a state with no humidity, this product will work very well.

After trying several hair-straightening products, I wanted to believe that my search for the perfect straightening cream/gel would end here. I was extremely disappointed with this product, as it neither straightened my hair nor tamed frizz. My hair is moderately thick and has a mild yet stubborn wave, and this gel couldn't control that. I also felt that it took longer to dry my hair whenever I applied it. All in all, this product was a disappointment.

Phillip is a hair genius. With only a few products in his hair care line he has managed to have one of the most notable lines in the business. This straightening balm definitely pushes him to his "uber" status. Works like no other on curly, wavy or "coarse" hair (I have had eight friends and siblings use it with the same result). To have my hair stay straight in hot and humid Miami, Caribbean and Australian weather is a major feat, but this balm did the job effortlessly and without by hair looking shellacked.
I would recommend using only the amount suggested (cost-effective) and making sure your hair is free of product buildup. Phillip's Peppermint Shampoo works like a charm to get your hair "healthy" clean and nourished.
Also great at giving colored hair a radiant shine.

While this product does the job, it seems it is best for very curly or very frizzy hair. If your hair isn't too thick or unmanageable, I would stay away. It seems to dull the hair if you put even a little too much on. I won't be buying this again.

I have tried other more expensive products like Phyto that did not work at all for me. Phyto was a waste of money. I am an African American woman that has tried my share of products from the cheap to expensive. Philip B. has worked for me! I will continue to be a Philip B. customer from now on and I tell everyone I know about the products.

I have tried many other de-frizz products, Charles Worthington, Frizz Ease, etc, none have worked until I discovered Philip B. It's expensive, but worth it. I have fine hair but lots of it, so I can end up with a mop of matted frizz. Since I have been using Philip B, it has been wonderful. I'm now left with defined curls. What a find! I'm thrilled.

This product is the best straightening product ever. I have thick, curly, Mediterranean hair and I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in top-of-the-line salons with the most expensive products, and they didn't work. The ones that did worked for only a few hours. This product however, leaves your hair silky smooth, shiny, and incredibly healthy! Not to mention, light as a feather and as straight as a line! For a lack of a higher number, I give it an incredibly well deserved 5 stars!

I have very curly hair that is difficult to keep from frizzing out. This stuff made it strait as a stick! I love it. It doesn't weigh my hair down and seems to last forever. It's also great for keeping my curls in check when I don't straighten my hair. Bottom line- no frizz!
