I've got a sensitive scalp (and sensitive skin in general) and have been battling dandruff as a result of coloring and regularly heat-styling my hair. I am also prone to eczema on my legs and face.
Anti-dandruff/scalp-rescuing products that are safe for color-treated hair are difficult to find. I bought this product because it said it could help my dandruff, was safe for color-treated hair, AND could also be used as a body wash during psoriasis or eczema flare-ups.
To my surprise all these claims have been proven true in my experience. I was very glad to notice a dramatic reduction in scalp flakes after my very first use. Also during that first use I used a small amount on some patches of eczema on my face and noticed the skin in those areas isn't as flaky or inflamed as a result.
The smell isn't great - it's like bengay-masked-with-tea-tree. It rinsed totally clean though, and I didn't notice a lingering scent (especially once I used my conditioner).
Thumbs up on this one.

I've had oily dandruff for years, and have tried many products. Considering the product's high price I am disappointed. While the product does seem to do a good job of cleaning the hair, it seems ineffective on oily dandruff flakes. To boot - it has a distictly unpleasant smell. It may be good on dry dandruff, but if your problem is oily dandruff, search elsewhere.

Comments about Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo, 7.4 oz:
This shampoo is awesome! It is so worth the money (and smell)!! My son has suffered severe psorasis for a couple years. Thick patches of dead skin on his head along with constant itching and flakes. This shampoo cleared it completely when dermatologists and prescribed (and over-the-counter) medications and/or shampoos did not work. It has been approximately 3 months that he has been using this shampoo and the psorasis has not returned. My husband has spots of eczema on his legs and arms. Rubbing the shampoo on those areas cleared that up too!!

Comments about Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo, 7.4 oz:
I have been suffering from dandruff and dry scalp for over a year, and nothing has worked, including other high-end products, prescription dandruff shampoo and even the natural route of jojoba oil and fish oil supplements which other people swear by. I actually tried this product when my suffering was at its worst last winter, and for whatever reason it seemed my dandruff was getting worse in the days that ensued and I stopped using the product. A couple weeks ago I was feeling at my wits end with the situation and decided to pull out the bottle of Philip B Anti-Flake again. It has helped in the last two weeks like nothing has helped all year! I don't know if maybe it is because I am giving more attention to leaving the product on for several minutes but there has been a DRAMATIC reduction. I am ordering my second bottle.

Comments about Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo, 7.4 oz:
I had been reading reviews on this product for a few years because I've suffered for years with an itchy scalp. I hated the idea of spending [$] for a bottle of shampoo but justified it recently during friends and family. Let me tell you... this stuff is incredible. Within a day the itch was gone. I mean, completely gone! I 've been using it nearly every day, without a conditioner and my hair is soft and shiny. I place it directly on my scalp, let it sit for a couple of minutes and then rinse through. The smell is a bit medicinal but not bad in anyway. It smells very natural to me. Anyway, I'm thrilled to bits with this product and don't believe I will ever stop using it!

This works better than any dandruff shampoo I have ever tried. Some might disagree with me about the smell, but it smells like a combination of rosemary and tea tree oil, which is invigorating to me.

Comments about Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo, 7.4 oz:
I was having a flaking problem on a small spot on my scalp. After using various prescription products, I was about to give up and just deal with it. (I had also purchased the Phyto shampoo for dry scalp and hated it.) This product got such great reviews I thought I would give it a try. I used it ONE time, and the dry patch is now gone. I kid you not. I might just be a Philip B. convert now.

Comments about Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo, 7.4 oz:
Some may say it has a bad smell, but I would disagree. It has a medicinal smell, but more pleasant than most store brands. I think like the smell. AND, it takes care of my itch and flakes. I do not need to use it everyday, but when I use it, it's typically for a few days then I'm good to go for a while. Shake before use. Work the lather. Leave on a bit before rinsing. It has a shelf life of a year, so check the expiration date if buying in a store -- if it's on clearance it's probably expired. I also used it when I broke out in hives from an allergic reaction -- helped relieve the itch.
