First off, I have always had trouble with extremely oily skin that is also quite sensitive. This presented as a big problem being that I am a dermatology resident. I have tried dozens of oil control moisturizers (ClarinsMen shine free gel, dermalogica clarifying mattifier, dermalogical oil free matte block, nivea oil control lotion, paula's choice daily mattifying lotion, etc. etc...) to combat this problem and never found effective results. Although they seemed to work early on, by noon my face was either shiny again or covered by a white residue. The only product that had worked for me is Jack Black's All Day Oil Control, but I wanted something with SPF. I tried this sunscreen a few months ago and have not missed a day since. I use this in place of a moisturizer every morning after showering and letting my face air dry. My face stays shine free through the late afternoon. It does not irritate my skin at all nor clog any pores. I recommend this product to anyone with oily skin looking for a real solution.

I have applied sunscreen every day religiously since I was 18. I used to use PTR Ultra-Lite Oil Free SPF 30. When I went to reorder about 2 months ago, I noticed that that particular line had been discontinued, and since I was always slightly by a shiny face halfway through the day, I decided to give this supposedly comparable product a try. I hate it, plain and simple. It does go on smoothly and dries quickly. However, once dry, it has a tendency to flake off if you touch your skin too much, which makes applying makeup a pain. It also completely clogged up my pores, giving me zits in areas I haven't had zits since I was 15. After about the 5th major eruption, I realized my face wasn't just adjusting to a new product, but rebelling against it. If you at all have blemish-prone skin, STAY AWAY!!!!

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30, 4.2 oz:
As a black woman with oily skin, finding a good facial sunscreen that doesn't leave a greasy, chalky residue is a huge challenge. Even though it's pricier than any sunscreen I've bought in the past, I can honestly say it's worth every penny.
Most of the time I don't use foundation on top. I apply the sunscreen in the morning and allow it to set, then finish with a dusting of Black Opal tinted mineral powder to offset any trace of white cast that may develop. I like knowing that my skin is protected while still looking natural. The only downside is that it has a thicker texture, which I thin out between my fingertips before applying.
Pros
- Effective Protection
- Not Greasy
- Sweatproof
- UVA/UVB Protection
Cons
- Comedogenic
- Doesn't rub in well

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30, 4.2 oz:
I bought this to use as an everyday sunscreen since my skin is rather fair. I was loving it at first since it has a completely matte finish and it didn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin (no red flare-ups). After a while of using it though, I realized that it was making me break out pretty bad and I started to despise putting it on everyday because of its thick texture (doesn't spread onto or blend into skin easily). I will not be purchasing this again.

I use this sunblock when I'm going to be in the sun. It's not sticky or greasy!!! Best sunscreen I've ever tried. Now that is summer I have it with me all the time. A bit pricy, but well worth it. You'll be protected and comfortable.

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30, 4.2 oz:
I have sensitive skin that is prone to acne and redness and I have had horrible break-outs with other sunscreen products. I like Uber Dry as it does not make my skin greasy and clog-up like others. Other non-greasy/sensitive skin sunscreens are still too oily for me. This is just right and I will continue to use it when I go out.

Fantastic is all I can say. One beauty investment I don't regret. I have never used sunscreen on my face even though I know I need to because I always break out from it...well not anymore! This stuff is my saving grace. I can apply it without fear of shine or breakouts, an it works great! It doesn't sweat into my eyes either when I apply it for a run, bike, or hike. It may seem expensive, but it really isn't because it personally will last me an entire summer. And the fact that I actually use it is priceless...if you save money by buying a cheaper drugstore sunblock it won't do you any good if you don't use it! I'd recommend this to anyone...I even have my mountain-main boyfriend hooked on it :oD

I haven't used it yet so I filled in for my hubby who NEVER uses face lotion. Well after his brother got skin cancer I finally convinced him to start wearing protection. He uses this daily (if I remind him ;-) and he likes that it is non-greasy and light weight. I will start using it as soon as I finish up my skin protectant.

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30, 4.2 oz:
I've tried pretty much every "non-greasy" facial sunscreen under, well, the sun! This sunscreen isn't perfect, as it does have a tendency to 'pill' late in the day, but a late-day toner sweep clears that. This product goes on dry and even helps to control shine. I've not used any other product that does the same (even though many say they do).

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30, 4.2 oz:
I love this sunscreen. It is pricey compared to drugstore sunscreen but I think it is worth it. I really only use it on my face so I can't really speak to using it on the body. However, it is a "dry" sunscreen in the sense that it does NOT grease up your face. After my skincare sinks in, I put on a dollop of the sunscreen, let that sink in while I do my hair (or make the bed, grab a cup of coffee) and then do my make-up. Powder goes nicely over the sunscreen and doesn't cake - as long as you do give it about 3 minutes to sink into the skin.

I only wish it was SPF 50. Goes on matte finish. I love it. For walking around, cycling. I have not tried it surfing yet. In that case, matte does not matter. Im in the ocean. High SPF is critical however.
