Comments about Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol, 1 fl oz:
This is indeed a silicone-heavy serum, which enables it to double as a foundation primer. It doesn't clog my pores or cause my sensitive skin to break out. I wouldn't call it greasy, but it is definitely heavier than Paula's Resist Ultra Light Antioxidant Serum. For that reason, I use it over my sunscreen (Paula's Resist SPF 25) and under a mattifying foundation (like NARS Sheer Matte or Chanel Mat Lumiere) to help the foundation go on more smoothly (without looking patchy) and extend its wear time. You can also use it overnight (after cleansing and exfoliating). A great way to add some retinol (and other antioxidants) to your skin care routine without spending a lot of money. A little bit goes a long way. By comparison, I found Paula's Resist Super Antioxidant Serum way too greasy for my combination skin.

Comments about Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum with Retinol, 1 fl oz:
While I applaud Paula Begoun for creating a price point anti-oxidant serum packed with everything you could want, I'm super disappointed in the crazy amount of silicone and slip agents in this product. The biggest complaint I read about before purchasing was the consistency, and I have to agree. Not surprising since the top 5 ingredients in this product are slip agents, mattefiers, suspending agents, and thickeners. For those of you that don't know what silicon feels like, think slippery but dry. Sometimes it's confused with oil (like in oil-free silicone based makeup removers) or it can give products a silky texture. I think in the proper proportions it can add a really nice texture to foundations, primers, and serums. But this formulation is way over the top. Hate it, will not repurchase.
