I've never been able to maintain a DIY manicure for more than a day or so, no matter how expensive the product used. Up until recently, I was getting professional UV gel color manicures, which I loved, but it just got to be too expensive. I had been looking at purchasing a DIY UV Gel Polish Kit for quite a while - and recently did buy one to try, but I haven't opened it yet because I wasn't sure I wanted to keep it or would take the time to use it (about a half hour from start to finish I was told). On a whim, I had also ordered the Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat and Orly Top 2 Bottom Basecoat and Topcoat All in One right before I bought the DIY UV Gel Kit. After using the Orly products, I've decided to return the UV Gel Kit. The Orly products are incredible - they go on smoothly, work with different brands of polish, and have the staying power of a professional gel polish manicure. Amazing!

This is a great basecoat! I had never used it before this purchase but will use it all the time now. It surely adds a couple of days to my manicure.

Before using this basecoat, my at-home manicures lasted an average of ONE DAY before I had peeling and chipping polish. It was so frustrating and difficult to keep my nails looking professional and presentable with chips of nail polish flaking off all over. I found this basecoat and use it with Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps for topcoat and now my manicures last at LEAST 5 DAYS and usually a full week (before I get tired of the color and decide to switch!). It seems a bit pricey, but trust me, it is worth it! I'm still on my first bottle, which I think I bought > 9mo ago and it is still >80% full and is NOT getting thick or dried out from so many uses. This product is very easy to apply and dries quickly, leaving a tacky, rubbery touch to the nail so you know your nail polish will adhere well. I definitely recommend this product and will purchase again!

Easily one of my favorite base coats on the market. Using this under nail polish always gives me at least 5 to 7 days of wear. It dries quickly and doesn't affect polish color like some other brands of sticky base coats do.

After looking for a good system to make my nail polish last longer than a day, I found this Orly rubberized base coat. I've never been able to maintain a nice polished look for longer than a day on my own. I resorted to no chip manicures but they can get expensive at the salon. I've used this Orly Basecoat twice now in two weeks with my self polished nails looking great an entire week after each use. My daughter has ultra thin nails so nail polish literally peels off after a few hours. I applied this to her nails then used her regular color polish. We've been SO shocked at how long her polish lasts! Highly recommended, have added to my list on drugstore.com! I'll purchase again.
