I use a cotton swab to apply to areas that I'm prone to shine. My son also uses it to prevent oily shine. Works better than I thought after reading other comments. Really work excellently! I'm buying an extra one for my son !

My VERY oily skin has large pores and is shiny almost immediately after washing, if I don't use some kind of mattifier. After using half a dozen different kinds of matte-look powder, primers, lotions, and gels, I do NOT expect any product to keep me un-shiny for the whole day - it's just unrealistic for truly oily skin. This little bottle of liquid mattifier is a great buy. For the bargain price of [$] you get literally 4-6 months' worth of product, if you use it once a day like I do. I've been buying this for years. I dab on a couple of drops of Zero Oil before leaving the house in the morning and don't get shiny until lunchtime. Putting on too much will leave a powdery finish, so I prefer to use blotting sheets once I'm out of the house (and without a mirror). Beware - if your skin is flaky, this will highlight roughness. Exfoliate regularly and enjoy!

Origins used to have an oil control facial moisturizer called Matte Scientist which worked really well. Not only does Zero Oil not work as well, the bottle is awkward and you have to shake the product really really well before use.

I've been using this for several weeks. It hasn't been effective at all. There is no reduction in shine. I don't like that it seems that it would be easy to spill (very liquidy with pop off lid). Messy in general. It also seems like it would be easy to get bacteria into the bottle since you have to continually shake it and the liquid in the bottle is exposed to whatever is on your fingertips at the time.
Peter Thomas Roth's mattifier has worked well for me and it lasts much longer (worth the price of 3x more than this...It lasts more than 3x as long and application is much more user friendly). PTR product is very effective.
I also tried Philosophy's "Never Let them See you Shine" - Also ineffective (and I am a very loyal Philosophy customer).
