Love the creamy gel texture. It feels like silk going on. When you first apply, you think it will be hard to get on evenly, but then it rubs right in. There is a fair amount of color guide that will come off on your clothes before you shower. The color is lovely, less golden and more brown, but I wish it was a little darker. It also isn't as expensive as some of the other brands. I have never had any streaks with this, and even goes on evenly on tough spots like feet. It is my new go-to tanner.

I have been an avid fan of Jergen's Natural Glow for quite a while because the price is great, and the color is also! However, it seems like I had reached my limit of how dark I could get with Jergen's, so I was on the hunt for something else! I am uber white ( I'm talking "Casper" the Ghost here ) LOL! I wanted a darker glow for the summer months and I read the reviews of almost all tanners. The Origins Great Pretender had rave reviews no matter where I read it from, so I decided on that one! Normally, I would not spend [$] on tanner.I decided to splurge based on the positive reviews, and boy am I glad I did!!This tanner is amazing!! It goes on so smooth, there is no way you can get streaks! The color is sensational ( a beautiful brown color; NEVER orange!)It is kind of thin, so you have to be careful not to get it on carpet, etc., but that's one of the best things about it though because it dries FAST! It is tinted, so you can see where it goes and it has a nice "minty" smell! The best part is that I only applied this once weekly and it stays put for like 5 days!! It gradually fades just like a real tan with none of that alligator looking skin some tanners have when fading! I will recommend this tanner to everyone in full confidence that you will love it! Thank you Origins for such a remarkable product! I am a forever customer!!!

I just don't think I have the patience for stinky self-tanners. This product was so smelly going on. Even once it was absorbed into my skin, I still smelled like that awful odor whenever I was sweating. In the week after, I turned the water orange whenever I shaved anywhere I had tanned. The application itself was a sticky, tacky, mess. I threw the product in the garbage.

Other tanners have a strong oder, but this has none! I have fair skin and the color goes on evenly and looks natural. Be sure to exfoliate and moisturize before applying to ensure best application.

I cannot comment on long term use of this product as I typically reserve it for special occassions but I absolutely love it! It is even, smells nice, and does its job so well. I did not check the box for natural tan as a pro but I also did not list it as a con either b/c it is meant to have a shimmer, which of course is not natural, but I like the subtle shimmer and it is exactly what I was after. I highly recommend this if you are looking for some added color and glam!

I am really pale so all in all this product did what it was supposed to do and I actually really liked it. The only problem was I was hoping for a darker tan. While the tan I got is very natural looking it isn't as dark as I had hoped for. Other than that this product was great.

The smell was bad but not unbearable. I'm saying I would recommend this to a friend, and I would, if they wanted a lighter less noticeable difference in skin color. I tried applying the product twice in one day but it really didn't make a difference in the deepness of the color.

But in the end I'm happy with purchasing it because I was streak free and slightly tanner Origins just needs to make a product that will make a bigger impact!

This is a great self tanner. It goes on easily and completely streak free! The scent is a bit minty so much better than the usual self tanner scent. The tan appears within just a few hours and lasts for days. I only need to reapply once or twice a week. Make sure you exfoliate first and apply a bit of lotion to extra dry areas such as ankles and knees.

I have tried all self tanners out there b/c I have fair skin and don't tan. This is THE FIRST that has created a natural and even looking tan on my skin. A must for the summer!!

I purchased this product about 3 weeks ago, based on the positive reviews. I have become increasingly skeptical with claims from other products stating "no streaking", "natural color", etc... The Great Pretender is better than any other sunless tanner I have used. The "tan" is believable and the tanner odor is minimal. There is absolutely no streaking. I don't even have to worry about knees and elbows...it goes on evenly. The best!!!!

I've used a lot of self tanners over the years and this is my favorite. I am very fair and this produces the most authentic color. It's easy to apply but if you use too much it will stay a bit tacky for awhile but won't rub off on your clothes. It has a light fresh scent when you apply it and doesn't get that awful tanner stench as the color develops. Love it!
