The Dolce Vita is close to my natural lip color, just emphasizes it more. I use it with a small amount of lip balm. To sharpen the pencil, put it in the fridge overnight first. Pricey but should last a long time because it is long-wearing.

To my sisters of color--this is the PERFECT work/business/interview shade of lipstick. It'll flatter all hues from alabaster to cocoa. It's not loud and will not distract. This is that perfect shade that will match anything in your wardrobe. I recommend you wear this when in doubt about to what color to wear. Your mom will love you in this color, and she'll probably permanently "borrow" it from you. Wear it to meet his mom and sisters. This is ideal for that serious and sophisticated look. Also buy the matching lipstick. Wear this under the lipstick for the truest "Dolce Vita" color. I recommend the matching lipstick, lip gloss, blush, and NARS "Borneo" lipliner pencil.

I am always looking for the perfect RED. Not pink, not brown, not coral, RED. I have this in Cruella and it is absolutely perfect. Always get compliments when I wear it. Only negative is that I also have to use a lip conditioner with it as my lips get a little dry after some time.

I have the lipstick version of this and really loved the color but that formula didn't have any lasting power so I rarely wore it. Then I saw the Velvet Matte pencil version and had to snap it up. This formula lasts a long time, though not quite as long as the brighter/darker colors of the other Velvet Matte pencils I have (Cruella, D*mned). The color is not quite the same as the lipstick version but it's close enough, so I'm quite pleased overall. My natural lip color is medium-dark, so it usually shows through paler colored lipsticks, but I don't have that problem with the Velvet Matte Dolce Vita. It's not drying on me, but not moisturizing either.

I love this pencil. It's matt finish is just right. Wears off a bit fast if eating or drinking with it on however.
