Lipstick available in three formulas: Satin - moist, longwearing lipstick containing micro-bubble spheres to continually release lip conditioners which yield creamy, silky color that wears for hours. Semi-Matte - A highly pigmented matte, non-drying formula that provides a longwearing, full-bodied, velvety finish. Sheer - long lasting color pigments have been suspended in this translucent formula to provide a sheer, natural tint.

Once the lips have been defined with appropriate lip liner, use the Lip Brush to apply lipstick to the lip. Using the Lip Brush will provide control and aid in blending. Applying the lipstick directly from the tube will allow a richer application of color. For more of a matte finish and to remove excess product, place tissue over the lips and gently smooth finger over the lips. For Extra Long Lasting Color: Define and fill in entire lip with lip liner. Apply lip color directly from tube. Using only a single ply of tissue place tissue over the lips. Using a powder puff or sponge, pat loose powder over the lips to set. Reapply lipstick. Full Looking Lips: Add Lip Gloss or Lip Lacquer just in the center of the bottom lip and at the bow of the top lip. |

This is more of a fuchsia on my red lips. I cannot imagine this will look like poppy red on anyone though, however, that's what I expected after looking at online images. The formula is lovely -somewhat sheer for buildable coverage, but highly pigmented. I wouldn't call it moisturizing, but it's non-drying. There's a slight hint of eucalyptus smell, but only when applying. Although it pricey, I like the formula (similar to theBalm Read My Lips) well enough that I'm looking forward to trying NARS lipsticks in other colors.

The NARS sheer lipstick looked great for me-- attractive colors, sheer but with enough pigment so that your lips don't look naked.
First I bought Flair, then Manhunt. This lipstick does not appear to have much "slip.". I have to literally drag the tube across my lips rather than having it glide or at least go on smoothly. Given that these are not inexpensive, I make do with applying a lip balm first, lining my lips, and them applying the color with lip brush. This is rather more effort than I wanted from a sheer lipstick!
I'm afraid I'm not a NARS lipstick fan. Linnie K

This is a great lipstick, but it looks much more like a coral color than it does in the picture. I thought it would be more red. Oh well, it is sheer, I just put a little bit on and I'm happy. It is kind of hard to tell on the computer sometimes, but if you don't like coral, don't get this one.

What I like best about NARS Manhunt is the color. I'm fair with a tan, and Manhunt looks great with my skin. Another terrific quality is it layers well, over itselt or with a gloss. If I want a subtle look, I use only 1 layer; to be more glamorous, say, for nighttime wear, I apply a 3rd or 4th layer and then a glitter. It's really outstanding (I've received a compliment on it). And it survives kissing well. I have a basket full of lipsticks and glosses, and Manhunt is the tube I reach for most often--it's that versatile.

This lipstick color, in conjunction with either a brightening gloss (like Lychee Luxe from MAC) or a deepening lipglass (like Avarice from MAC) gives a great, brightening summer effect. The lipstick on my Latina-plummy-brown lips is a bright coral, a little lighter than I prefer, but definitely summer ready. I add a lipgloss to add depth or darkness, and that makes it PERFECT. For lighter toned lips and skin than my medium-dark olive, it would be perfect as is. It's a really happy and happy-making color. Wears beautifully with warm tones (brown, orange-red) and with dramatic end colors (white, black) and even grey. Even looks nice with summery turquoises and aquas. Lovely.
I recommend it for a great summer lip.
