Shanghai Express: Warm brick red A wide range of captivating shades designed to provide the look and style the color dictates. Lipstick available in three formulas: Satin - moist, longwearing lipstick containing micro-bubble spheres to continually release lip conditioners which yield creamy, silky color that wears for hours. Semi-Matte - A highly pigmented matte, non-drying formula that provides a longwearing, full-bodied, velvety finish. Sheer - long lasting color pigments have been suspended in this translucent formula to provide a sheer, natural tint.

Once the lips have been defined with appropriate lip liner, use the Lip Brush to apply lipstick to the lip. Using the Lip Brush will provide control and aid in blending. Applying the lipstick directly from the tube will allow a richer application of color. For more of a matte finish and to remove excess product, place tissue over the lips and gently smooth finger over the lips. For Extra Long Lasting Color: Define and fill in entire lip with lip liner. Apply lip color directly from tube. Using only a single ply of tissue place tissue over the lips. Using a powder puff or sponge, pat loose powder over the lips to set. Reapply lipstick. Full Looking Lips: Add Lip Gloss or Lip Lacquer just in the center of the bottom lip and at the bow of the top lip. |

This lipstick is amazing! The color is awe-inspiring. I agree that it is darker than the shade you see online. It is not too moiste but does not dry the lips. The best part about it is that it stays on all day long, even after eating, it is still there. I intentionally did not reapply to see its staying power and I still had to remove it with makeup remover. It is very attractive and definitly drives the guys wild! A must have for fall!

Shanghai Express is an exotic, rich, and highly pigmented lip color. It's darker than the picture shows, but even against my pale skin and red hair, it doesn't look harsh or campy.
I love to wear it when I want to make a statement, and not have everyone wearing the same color red!

I know NARS is known for lipstick, but I disliked this one for making my lips feel too dry. I prefer a moisturizing lipstick like L'Oreal Moisture Riche. I also wasn't pleased with the shade itself, finding it unflattering.
