I have this pencil in another color and it's gorgeous on. It looks like a regular eye pencil, but it's actually a twist-up pencil. Don't sharpen the plastic surrounding the color, only sharpen the center, color "lead" using the included mini sharpener. NARS really should put that direction on or in the package, because it isn't obvious at all.

This pencil has a nice color pigment and texture but in general is a terrible product. It is impossible to sharpen without losing a lot of the (expensive) pigment. A whole section of pigment from the center fell out of the pencil. The plastic surrounding the color does not sharpen smoothly and I often scratched the sensitive skin near the eye. At over $20, not worth it.
