First I tried a sample of this fragrance through another company. I fell in love with it and so did my husband/best of both worlds ;-)
I then ordered a large bottle to have on hand for special occasions as I tend to not spend so much on myself but tend to buy for my son or hubby.
It smells beautiful. However, for the price you would think it would be scent that would last all day ... unfortunately it is not.
It is great for a special occasion of short duration.

The original Michael Kors fragrance (tuberose) is one of my all-time favorite perfumes. I think Michael Kors Island is a masterpiece because it has the ability to transport the imagination to real waterfalls and island air. I love fragrances, but there are only a few that I consider to be "me", and will continually repurchase and wear often, but Michael Kors has been very special. Even with my love of the original, I never bothered to try Very Hollywood. The marketing, glitzy ads, and hype made me think it was a run-of-the-mill "celebrity" type fragrance designed for customers who wear the latest "style" in fragrance, then move on. The original Michael Kors is so timeless, and classy, and completely beautiful, I couldn't imagine that something in a bright pink bottle and "Hollywood" in its name could be in the same league. I received a sample of Very Hollywood with an order, so I gave it a try. So much for judging a book by its cover...This fragrance is lovely...pretty, and fresh. It's a radiant white floral, but it's not loud, overpowering, or sharp. I smell mostly a soft gardenia, balanced by a little jasmine. These notes are definitely classics, but this fragrance is nothing like a Chanel No. 5 "Hollywood" type scent, or a noxious 1980s evening soap opera type concoction. It's very clean, simple, and classy. I'm going to wind up purchasing this, I'm sure.

There is almost--ALMOST--something heavy with this fragrance--but in a really good way--this is not a flighty scent. A scent that envelopes you in a sensual way. I wear this on wintery days and cannot get tired of the way it smells!

When I saw the bottle I thought "20 something" but the fragrance is actually quite sophisticated while still being fun.

My husband and I both fell in love with it and it's a perfect antidote to the winter blahs.
