Kevyn Aucoin, the worlds master makeup artist, searched the world over for the past 20 years in order to bring women, like yourself, as well as his celebrity clients, The Sensual Skin Enhancer.  Kevyn created The Sensual Skin Enhancer to replicate the look of healthy, radiant, dewy skin. This was his favorite product to create a natural, youthful glow on all of his celebrity clients. Our long lasting formula can be used on every skin type in many ways to achieve your desired coverage, while allowing your natural skin to show through.

While on a trip to Japan with one of his clients, Kevyn was enthralled by the radiant, flawless skin of the Geisha.  His never ending curiosity of what makes people beautiful, led him to inquire about the products they used to achieve their dewy, radiant complexion.  He then sought out and worked closely with the same chemists who created their products. This resulted in the creation of The Sensual Skin Enhancer.

Available in 16 shades, this long lasting formula provides medium to full coverage and blends seamlessly into the skin. This product is very unique and may be used with a touch of powder as an alternative to an allover foundation or as a spot concealer to conceal imperfections or to lighten target areas.

Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Polybutene, Diethylhexyl Succinate, Polyethylene, Quaternium 18 Hectorite, Calcium Carbonate, Dextrin Palmitate, Honey, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (Jojoba), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Beeswax (Apis Mellifera), Butylene Glycol, Cholesterol, Lecithin, Talc, Triethylhexanoin, Methylparaben, Fragrance (Parfum) (parfum), May Contain (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

  1. Apply sparingly (a pin sized amount) with your fingertip or concealer brush on top of freshly moisturized or primed skin (Try our Sensual Skin Primer designed specifically to work with our product.) If you tend to have more oil in your skin, skip the primer or moisturizer.
  2. Blend, blend, blend into the skin using either your fingertips or a sponge. The more you blend the more seamless it becomes. The warmth in your fingertips will break down the product and set it into the skin. The product will become transfer resistant and emulate the appearance of healthy skin. Because of its concentration, the Sensual Skin Enhancer is unlike any other formula. Once you learn to use it, you can get rid of all other foundation products.  You can wear it as sheer or as heavy as you prefer.

Additional Tips and Techniques:

  • As a highlighting foundation ~ This was Kevyn's favorite way to use this product. Choose a shade lighter than your actual skin tone and apply it to the areas of the face where light naturally occurs to create an instant highlight. These places are: the brow bone, center of eyelid, center of the forehead, and down the bridge of the nose, cheekbone plane and under the eye, around the corners of the mouth, center of chin up under the lip. Refer to Kevyn's book "Making Faces" page 24 for a full visual illustration of this.
  • As a concealer  - Use our Concealer Brush  (which will allow for the proper application of this product, because of its precision tip ) and dot sparingly over areas that need to be covered. Make sure that you blend well (your fingers are great tools for this!). You can build with this product if you want more coverage.
  • As an all-over foundation, here a few different application techniques:
    • After moisturizing or priming your skin, use your fingers to blend the product into the skin. How much product you use will determine how opaque or sheer you want your look to be, remembering again that the product is very concentrated. Start sparingly and build coverage as needed.
    • Using a dampened sponge, apply the product to your face and blend (this application will be sheerer than using your fingers).
  • With both applications 1 and 2, the product will set itself in about five minutes. If you want more of a matte look, apply translucent powder after 5 minutes. Try our Gossamer Loose Powder.
  • Mix the product with your moisturizer or our Sensual Skin Primer on the back of your hand to make a tinted moisturizer effect. (This is the smoothest and sheerest application.) Try using our Contour Brush for an easy, smooth application.

Comments about Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer Foundation, SX 02, .63 oz:

I was undecided about this product for quite a while, but it was finally the scent that tipped the scales. The perfume-y smell is quite strong and does not go away for many hours. I don't want to smell my concealer over everything else I put on, especially when the scent is not my favorite!

The coverage is quite good and long lasting, but the product is pretty heavy and tends to settle into fine lines and pores. Because you must use so, so little product and then put effort into removing any excess that settles into your creases, this product is time-consuming to apply.

You do need to go at least a shade darker than you would think, and pay close attention to the undertone descriptions. SX02 is the lightest beige/neutral shade, and their isn't another beige/neutral shade until SX05. I'm very fair and SX02 was too light for me. SX05 was a good match. I normally use MAC NW20, which I have gone back to using.
