- Not Effective
Comments about Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Cleansing Oil, 4 oz:
Such a disappointment. I am a fan of this line, and have bought or sampled half of the product range. One thing I love about the product line is everything smells really great-citrusy and fresh. They have several stand out products, but this is not one of them. It is quite expensive for something that will be washed down the drain after 30 secs-1 minute.
I have used many many cleansing oils. I have dry and sensitive skin, and no matter how "gentle" a product claims to be, I cannot use any cleanser that foams on my face. So cleansing oils are a great compromise between deep cleaning and moisturizing. Also great at melting away physical spf sunscreen that I often wear.So I had high hopes for this.
First off, it smelled very rancid. From the very first use, that clean fresh and citrusy smell I was expecting after seeing the essential oil blend (the same used in many of Juice products) was not there, instead it smelled like some kind of fruit or food that had turned. Getting past that, once spreading on my dry face (with dry hands) and adding water to emulsify, the oil did nothing. There was no emulsifying. It just continued to be an oil slick on my face. I added more and more water, and scrubbed harder, only to get the very slightest bit of milky oil.
I tried to wash it off and even used a konjac sponge to remove it, though it never really does and I ended up wiping my face off with a towel. Even after wiping it off, my dry skin had a film on it, probably because the oil didn't actually cleanse my skin in any sort of way and never really absorbed.
I returned this and received a quick refund (which was an ordeal in itself, requiring 5 emails to beauty.com). Considering the price, I wanted to save any other customers from making a mistake on this. It might have been a bad batch or maybe a just a poorly formulated product. Don't let this stop you from purchasing other products from Juice Beauty.
